Speaker 1:

And John, what I'm going to, I'm going to get this thing kicked off. Forget about the spelt Dr. Pepper. All right. Let's watch this podcast presents an overstep. The dishes were brought to you by Mack Weldon. Shut it out. Common. Paramount's new movie out right now. The buddy games up to her over stuff that you should happy holidays. This is what we're going to be doing. We're going to be talking about movies that people will giving us a stocking stuffers tonight. It's lethal weapon and die hard. We're going to put two other movies on the chopping block in a little segment we'd like to call the grueling death match. No, actually it's nicknamed the naughty or nice leader in which we're going to decide, which one of these competing movies is Nati and which one is nice. Tonight's selection is Abraham Lincoln vampire killer versus a hundred deep blood lust. And then we're going to revisit a classic podcast and a segment called the ghost of podcast passed in the honor of the holidays, but pay attention as we go along, we're going to drop keywords. If we assemble the keywords and type a sentence in the comments, you're going to be able to win 10 prizes. Uh, so type quick and listen as you watch. And if you get that, we're going to go into a couple of different prizes. Dave, what kinds of things should they be looking out for during the show?

Speaker 2:

Does that mean? Sorry, you froze up there

Speaker 1:

For me.

Speaker 2:

So, uh, uh, prizes include a digital copy of the new movie, buddy games, three random Mondo, Funko pops, unopened unused DVD, copies of lethal weapon and diehard just in time for the holidays. One year of shutter that we pay for or the criterion channel dude. Nice.

Speaker 1:

That's pretty sweet. So if you play along the wide truth stream, just keep commenting so I can keep track of your names. If you're listening to this later as an audio episode, we're still gonna give you a chance to win. You can email us, combine the magic sentence to win. And the first listener to email us will also be included to get to get the prize. Um, we'll kick over and we'll take a little, uh, intro here, officially

Speaker 2:

Box of wine. Oh, pull something cold on ice. Eats them.

Speaker 3:

[inaudible]

Speaker 1:

Bam. And we're back. Yeah, my buddy cut for us. That's actually version three, but that's the best one. The coolest things we ever had. We're going to roll with that and into the new year, that's pretty good filling up my cup because I spilled it earlier. If you're just joining now, you wouldn't know that, but that was like, pre-show, that's how you get the jitters out is make sure you spill everything all upfront. Just get it all done. Running your mud camera. Um, so let's move real quick. And the home video headlines, uh, in the news, Jennifer Garner, Mark refollow they're going to be playing Ryan Reynolds parents at a time travel movie. Sounds a little bit back to the Futuri, but what do you guys think about this? You heard about this movie travel situation. That's pretty cool. I mean, Oh, like an official officially, like when they released maybe, but, um, Mark Ruffalo and uh, Jennifer Garner were in that, that movie. Right. Which was a third scene again or something. Right. So she, so she went back. Oh yeah. Kid is like a romcom. So they're going to get reunited Mark Rufallo and Jennifer Garner. We'll see if the sparks is still there. If they still got chemistry, they're not the same characters. Are they? What? They're not the same characters. Right? It's a whole different plot. I'm just saying like, last time we were together was that other movie, but they're going to be in this time travel comedy where they, where they, where they play, where they play. Oh, we got our first fan commentary. Thank you, Dakota. What's up? He's arrived. Enjoyed the show.

Speaker 4:

Merry Christmas.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. Happy holidays.

Speaker 4:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

He's actually, our buddy he's helped us out in the past when we were discording. He's the one that threw out our discord for us. Nice. Thank you, man. Thank you. Yeah, it's pretty rad. All right. So where are we? The second headline for tonight that I was looking at was the top of the box office is actually that freaky horror movie with Vince Vaughn, where he does it's the body swapping one where he bought his swapped with a teenage girl. And, but he still was a murderer, you know, like he's like a serial killer. Right. And they do a little, little switch, a room. Um, that's coming out on a video on demand on December 4th. So everybody check that out. It's supposed to be really good. And the other thing is Polish went on this rant that started on Instagram. Like literally like a day after we did our Encino man run. Right. We did our feel run up and see, Oh man, which that was your pick, right? Nicky lights. It seen man, which was like, I dunno, maybe the fifth time we've watched it collectively. Maybe, um, you can't go wrong. Yeah. You take, go wrong. So then like a day later, Paul shore on Instagram was like, Hey, you know, anniversary coming up of Encino, man. Let's do an in man too. You know, Sean's down, Brandon Frazier's down. And uh, and then it, then all these news outlets were picking it up. Right. It was like a clickbait story just kept going. And then he switched to like, Hey Disney plus let's let, like, let's move on with all those other stuff. He's like, I haven't seen a man to let's do a son-in-law too. You know what I mean? Like he didn't quite get the jury, but a jury duty too. That'd be great. Yeah. I would like to see like Encino man returns would be kind of cool. And then like, um, you know, later on tonight, you're going to find out in this episode that there's another Encino man connection, but we'll get to that segment a little bit later, but what's, what's really interesting about like polisher going on this rant. He's like, he's like trying to reignite his own career. Like he's like trying to like, um, like he was on Joe Rogan with anyone on these other podcasts and he has his random rants thing that he does himself, but he's like, I'm trying to be like a Phoenix that rises from the ashes. Right. And like trying to restart his own second coming or like his, uh, he's like a return. And it's kind of interesting, but the other person who's doing that right now is like Jamie Kennedy, like Jamie Kennedy is now trying to podcast trying to get his podcast going, trying to try to stand up. And he's doing like a history thing of like, this is how I got cast into screen, which I, that was pretty fascinating. I watched that instead of just watching like old clips of the Jamie Kennedy experiment, it's like, I went on YouTube and tried to watch, you know, the, I think I shared the clip, maybe not with the whole team, but I know Nick is his good fan. So I sent over to Nick was like, check this out. This is like him telling the story about like how he gets cast in this movie and goes from like one thing to the other. Um, he like showed up what? Cause he showed her[inaudible]. Somebody was like, Oh, this girl, man. Huh. But I mean, I could easily see like why don't throw, throw them in the mix together. You know, something that would be a good pairing. The last thing I said, Damien was, um, he was in a couple of them, the tremors movies, right? Like he played the, he played the dude, the main dudes kid or whatever. And a couple of termers. Yeah.

Speaker 5:

You got gypped out of the last one. Why is he not in the last one? They, they put, they brought in pulley and dynamite for this one.

Speaker 1:

I feel like maybe there was like a clash between the other dude, you know? Like, I mean, yeah. I don't know. I mean like stars fizzle out, but they never really leave their stardom. Right. Like they always want to be like center stage

Speaker 5:

Or they kind of like, they're kind of high and then they just kind of go and then they come back

Speaker 1:

Or they enter into a movie with an ensemble cast of other people that recognize them as a star. And then they get incorporated in a bigger picture. And that always works too. Yeah. Yeah. Hmm. I don't know. We're about 10 minutes in, so I'm going to throw out the first magic word is binge Watchers, which is the name of the show. So if you can remember that, that's the first clue to get the, uh, the buddy game prize. That's the one of the top prizes. Okay. My hand is raised. Your hand is right eligible for this. I was wondering, are those cells real for the prizes? Oh man, let me, let me actually ask one of the pictures. Hold on. Let me, uh, let me mute you real quick. Hey Dave, should we make them eligible for the prizes on this show? Or is it just going for the straight fans that are out there in the internet land? Uh, no. So there we have it, uh, you know, I took it to the marketing department.

Speaker 5:

Yes,

Speaker 1:

No, no, no. We took it to a meeting. We took, we had a little marketing meeting here on the show and the goal is you're not eligible to win the free movies with Amanda Funko pops, but the people are. And if they heard that magic keyword at like nine and a half minutes, then they'll be able to keep going and get a free copy of your buddy games. Free Amanda pops, open DVDs, a bunch of other stuff, shutter.com. We're going to give them a free year subscription. That's pretty cool horror movies and new releases. That's the way to go. I'd love to get shutter for free for a year. Don't tell anybody that we've got like 30 days free just for talking about them. But yeah, don't tell anyone. Okay. Um, so don't want the headlines are moving on to stories and favorite bits from our stocking stuffers and this year, the stock, these numbers are, what kind of movies do they give the Vince waters? His presence a couple of years ago, we've gotten copies of lethal weapon and diehard. We figured most people are familiar with those. We won't get into like the more obscure stocking stuffers we'll go right into some popular ones. So let's talk about the plot of what is diehard about Nick

Speaker 5:

Diehard is about this cop, John McClain and he's, uh, he's a New York cop and he's fighting with his wife, Pauline McClain got this awesome job who ends up becoming Holly Janero and goes to LA and gets and works on this awesome job. John McCain, can't can't leave and then ends up going to visit his family on the Christmas season at the amazing Nakatomi towers. And of course they fight a little and then these terrorists come in and the only person who can save the day is John McClain. Cause he's so bad-ass

Speaker 1:

Who just happens to be there, to attend his wife's holiday party

Speaker 5:

Just happens to be. And he's the only one, you know?

Speaker 1:

Yes. An accident guys, just to the most qualified. He just happens to be there by circumstance. No other reason.

Speaker 5:

I hope snippy guy that, that guy's not going to save the day buddy or whatever he does

Speaker 1:

Argument like for years, what? Like 25 years or 30 years, whatever. How long the movies been? Christmas movie is this? Yeah. Is this a Christmas movie dude himself? Mr. Uh, Mr. Chrome dome, uh, Allister, uh, Bruce Wallace himself said what the diehard or himself? John McClain said, it's not, but it is[inaudible].

Speaker 5:

Have you seen Bruce Willis? His movies lately? Come on. Let's not even listen to that guy. I'm sorry, Bruce. It is audience dictates at this point. Like everybody says, it's the Christmas

Speaker 1:

Movie. It ends with the Christmas

Speaker 5:

Audience kind of dictates at this point. You know, people have like

Speaker 2:

Christmas angels of diehard, literally, literally like Michael came in or has the Christmas tree.

Speaker 1:

Tim thinks that Bruce Bruce Willis is AKA Don Jr. Aye. Aye. Aye. Tim, we're not going to comment on the politics. Maybe you're going to call me. We'll keep walking. Just keep rolling. What is the plot of lethal weapon day?

Speaker 2:

Oh, Oh geez. Poor man's. But um, well

Speaker 1:

[inaudible]

Speaker 2:

It tells me I have to explain. Yeah. Oh, son of a. It does.

Speaker 1:

Okay. Yeah. What is lethal?

Speaker 2:

Uh, well it's about Riggs and Murtaugh. Uh, you know, uh, is it, uh, Riggs Martin rigs? Uh, no Gibson is nutty. His wife died a few years ago, so he's suicidal. Nobody wants to work with them. So they put him with the old guy, uh, Roger Murtaugh and they hunt down. Uh, what is that? A mystery of a lady who jumped off committed suicide. It's connected to an old friend of, uh, Murtaugh. Uh Murtaugh's lot of intrigue suspicion. Uh, yeah, it's uh, a lot of, uh, and a lot of action. I, uh, you know, a lot of backup.

Speaker 1:

All right. So a lethal weapon is a buddy cop movie trading, buddy cop movies, and they're polar opposites. One guy's about to retire. The other guy might be a loose cannon schizophrenia. We don't really know what his deal is. Bipolar. Maybe anyway, as Dave said, there was a tragedy involved. He lost a wife and it makes him kind of loose on the job. They get linked up. There's a drug cartel coming out of his old army buddies, you know, Vietnam or whatever. And they got to work together on this case. There's a lot of, uh, flaws. Well, the characters are flawed, which is kind of a good thing. I don't know. Cause we're going in right into favorite best you wanna do? Favorite bits of lethal weapon first or favorite bits of diehard? Either one, you pick it up bits of lethal weapon. Cause we just, we're just trying to get the plot out of that one. So, um, I'll kick it off. I'm ready. I got a little note card here. Uh, so I liked that the characters are flawed, but it kind of bleeds into a little bit of bigotry and some sexism, if you pay close attention to some of the outtakes that are like still in the cut on film, you know what I mean? There's a lot of, there's some improv lines that don't really fit the plot, but they're there anyway. So it's just the actors kind of, uh, expanding their range there. Um, and to kind of weird areas. It's definitely not timely. I don't like I just rewatched it again. So it doesn't really fit the decade we're in. Now, if you have to leave one behind, I think you could maybe leave with a weapon behind and stick with diehard is still kind of timeless. I feel even though

Speaker 2:

Computer system, I agree it's still modern. Um, but I do appreciate

Speaker 1:

The personal relationships. My favorite part is that they take the time to flesh out the characters and like spend time with the family, which you don't really see them. Most cop movies are like, get to the point, bang, bang, shoot them up. Not like shoot them up, but what's your opinion about your wife's cooking? You know what I mean? Like they took a little bit of time to establish some characters and tell a better story that way. So those are my favorite bits from, from lethal weapon. Nikki lates, your favorite bits from, from lethal weapon.

Speaker 5:

I love the end climax fight with, uh, Gary Bucy and Mel Gibson, inter like w with the water and everything. I just thought that was such a great and climax fight. Do you remember that one or you guys don't remember the mood?

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah. The[inaudible] classic. Gary Busey played a Hitman named Joshua was in the special forces character and the fi they, like, they say a lot about the fight and the rain was like, they spent so many days and nights shooting. It it's incredible, but it breaks like every procedural law that you could imagine a P uh, police procedure would have,

Speaker 5:

Because he's like, Riggs is like, no, no, no, stay away. Let these guys play.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. He had like 30 cops show up and he's like, Hey, I'll take the blame guys, stay back and keep everybody back behind. Like, I'm on duty here. It rigs arrest, you know, it's rigs arrest, even though it's a great way in the eighties. Yeah.

Speaker 5:

Year too. They weren't as like, they didn't have cameras and like go to court later on. It was. Yeah,

Speaker 1:

Totally. Yeah. That's true. Um, what a different world, what a different world, different world. This movie is really dated now. Yeah, but it was interesting. It's that window

Speaker 2:

Into that world is something that can inform us today about the world

Speaker 1:

That were in the sequel we didn't get was lethal weapon. Joshua was lawsuit against LAPD folks. Sorry. My first spoiler alert came in at 17 minutes and 38 seconds. They usually come much later when I'm not paying attention, but I just ruined the, what happened, some stuff it's right there. My name is on the screen. Read their name. Yeah. So Dave, your favorite bits from Luke 11?

Speaker 2:

Um, I'd say, Hey, the, the inter not the interrogation, but the, the jumper scene. Um, we're just trying to talk the guy down. Like that's, you know, uh, you talk about the character moments. I mean, there's a ton of them in this movie, but you know, that's where you really see where Mel Gibson's psyche is, if you will. Um, like he really doesn't care. I mean, we, as an audience, you know, I didn't know ahead of time, this was the first time watching it. I didn't know that. I kind of figured there's going to be an airbag there, but like, even for the, for half a second, when he threw him off, I'm like, Holy, he's nuts. But the guy is nuts.

Speaker 5:

The guy who's going to jump be like, well, they're blowing up an airbag here. Why don't I move to this idea afterwards? I've always thought about that. I'm like, he didn't know that. Yeah. You're literally can

Speaker 2:

See it. I never made sense to me that part, but I mean, still, you know, this was the first time watch. So that still took me a little off guard, but, uh, yeah, that's, that's what stuck out for me. But if this was your first time watch, well, it's the first time watching it all the way through. It's one of those movies that I'd always catch me, but really never sat and watched beginning to end. Yeah. That's crazy. And you saw, have you seen any of the other lethal weapon movies? Um, I've seen parts of two and three and I've definitely seen four. Cause I saw that the drug they're all available,

Speaker 1:

You should watch it. Uh, that brings us to AA. Your favorite bits release a weapon.

Speaker 6:

I really enjoy the, the conflict resolution between the characters buddy movies are like a huge love of mine, but I want to focus in and just go on a microscopic level all the way down to something that happens at the very beginning of the movie. So it's not really a spoiler or anything. So I don't wanna ruin anything for anyone. Um, when the, when the girl jumps down like, or whatever happens to her, she falls on that car. That editing sequence is where the have like study the sound design and everything. Um, I felt like I was falling on the car, even though that's not the PR, it's not a point of view perspective per se. There's a couple of point of view shots in there, but it really takes you along for the ride. And just like I went back and I watched it three times, four times, I went back to watch it four times just to see that, that segment.

Speaker 1:

He's nice. He's reading the comments, but okay. We're going to throw out another magic keyword. Hopefully you're following along and answering it in the comments. When the prize we're giving away. Paramount's new movie, the buddy games tonight, we're giving away a year free on shutter. We've got some other prizes. Dave said at the beginning. I don't want to review them all as we're talking about our favorite bits for the movies you're talking about, but the next magic keyword is to review. Should I say the other key word or just keep cranking the new, the next word is my anyway is mine is the next set of keywords. So we've given out to the next two are, is mine. We're going to complete a sentence. You're going to win the top prize. Keep that aligned. We'll give more prizes out as we go along.

Speaker 2:

All right,

Speaker 1:

Here we are. Our favorite bits from die hard. Where did, or did we do that? We haven't done that yet. No, not at all. I got, I got lost talking about prizes. All right. So favorite books of die hard. Let's start with dangerous, Dave.

Speaker 2:

Um, yeah, as much like lethal weapon, a diehard is very much a character study that has happens to have action in it. It's kind of the way I've always looked at it. Um, but just, uh, just, uh, just him cutting his feet on the glass is such a human moment that has consequences. Like this movie is the script is so tightly wound, everything feeds into some thing else. It's nothing is random. Uh, so like the Kim cutting his feet are cutting his feet on glass, like comes into play so much. And that's just a human, such a human thing to give such a big action hero. Like it does make him make him human. He's not, he becomes super human in the next movies to follow, but like this one he's grounded. So yeah, that's kind of what I appreciate is just him cutting his feet is something I always thought was so interesting.

Speaker 6:

The irony is why he even had his feet bare to begin with because the planes to try to help them alleviate his anxiety.

Speaker 2:

It was just his, his shoes. I don't remember what the reason is, but you know,

Speaker 5:

No, no, because the guy in the plane told him, if you want to relax, like do this thing with your feet. And it just happened to be when he was doing that thing with his feet later on, after he got in a fight with Holly and then the terrorists came in out of that exact moment, he didn't have time to put on his shoes. It all plays out perfectly actually. Yeah,

Speaker 6:

Yeah. A whole lot until the glass a bit, but it does play out, but he never had time. All the bad guys.

Speaker 5:

Well, he had time to do is grab his gun and just go, like he didn't have time to put on shoes.

Speaker 6:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

So I guess that kind of maybe as Nikki's favorite bit kind of no, no, no, no. Actually, no, no, no,

Speaker 5:

No, no, no, no. My favorite bit is actually the relationship between him and Holly. I, um, as you get older, the, the relationship and the fights, they have actually kind of makes sense, like being with a lady and kind of like the bakery and they have, but my favorite bit is actually, there's like parts where John McClain has seen this naked girl. And in the beginning he just like walks by and he's like, like that to her. Right. And once he realizes like, you know what, Holly is my lady, he walks by the girl with the poster again. Never does it again. And it's such a subtle thing that you might not notice, but look for it next time. It's really beautiful.

Speaker 2:

The moment that visually shows you his loyalty to the one he loves.

Speaker 5:

Yes. It's like, it almost is like, because in the beginning there's like this naked girl on a poster and you just go and watch it again. And then he'll run by her later. And it's like, he realizes like Holly is the one. I mean, I just think, like you said, this is a real character study movie and the character study, the characters in this movie are so much better than the, well, the action is so amazing, but it makes the action so much better. I freaking love this movie. It's one of my favorite movies.

Speaker 6:

John McClane's call to his police buddy where he's like, I've told her, I loved her like a million times, but she's never heard me say, I'm sorry.

Speaker 5:

That's what I'm saying. We're talking about dire one of the best action movies and explosions. I mean, no, that's what I'm saying. We're talking about the character study and how beautiful and I, as, as a kid, I never got it, but now every year I watch it for Christmas and I'm constantly more into the drama than am the cooler. And the cool action is still good. But the drama now is giving me just as much and it makes the movie flow so much more diehard is freaking perfect. Yeah. So I'm emotional about die hard. The best thing ever. I like that. He didn't, he didn't use the chair to get the guy's attention. He used the body. Yeah, I know. Right?

Speaker 1:

Probably, uh, probably the best thing about Dyer, in my opinion, this would be my favorite bit is that the marriage seems real, right. That the edge that they have with the conflicts in their marriage are a little, are a little like striking, close to home. You get the reality of it, you know? Like, so could you believe that they're going to take over the whole building and get away with all this stuff? Oh, here's the other thing is, and I might step on somebody else's favorite bit is the guy from family matters that plays to the beat cop. It helps them out. Right. Right. Or are you talking about how good the lines are from the movie? Like no F N a or no, no. F and S um, I'm ordering a pizza lady. I know I'm not ordering a pizza. It's so good. Uh,

Speaker 5:

I think it's a Testament to this movie that we're all talking about. The emotional scenes, not the action, but the action is so good that it's all around. Just perfect. I love it.

Speaker 1:

Since the audience now has to listen to a bunch of, uh, uh, well, I say a brief word from our sponsors. So since we have to go to a brief word from our sponsors, I'll give another prize word out. How about that? So we've given out several, I think we're up to four different words you need to pay attention to and in the pilot and your sentence. Uh, yeah. Yep. And then, uh, so the next word would be favorite. That's the next prize word? Favorite? I'll give that one away in the comments too, but I won't tell what the other ones are. And then let's see if somebody can put the sentence together. I Adam's, Adam's working hard to compile it. He's been paying attention.

Speaker 5:

He's got a notepad in there.

James Roday Nick's Watson. Yeah. And so this is the plot. Yeah, exactly. And then, so the plot of this movie friends is, uh, these friends who've been buddies for like six. Well, I don't know their whole lives. Six of them get together for the buddy games, which is like some kind of insane competition of absurd, physical, mental challenges, the chance to win a whole bunch of cash. That's the plot of the movie. You can buy a red buddy games today on digital and DVD. It's right at arms from paramount pictures. We're giving away five copies, assemble the magic sentence. You're going to get a copy of this movie. It's brand new. It's out from paramount right now. It's pretty funny. You are take a look at it. We're giving away some copies. Tell us what the magic sentence is. Write it into the comments. Bam. Holy crap. One person just won the movie already. Our, our buddy Dakota just slammed down big favorite podcasts. I didn't even get out the words podcast.

Speaker 5:

Good to Coda.

Speaker 1:

So I guess we'll have to move on to, uh, I don't know the second prize, but the last thing I want to say is we're also brought to you by shutter, which is the Netflix of horror films. You can try shutter free for 30 days, go to shutter.com and use the promo code. Binge Watchers, they're subscription service for horror, thriller, suspense, genres, exceptional originals, movies, TV series, podcasts, and streaming events. Oh, we're going to move on to the night of your nice meaner, but we've got to say, congratulations, Dakota. Good job, brother. When yourself, a copy of the buddy games for paramount or enjoying the live stream and paying attention and writing down sentences with magic words, he didn't, I don't think he missed anything. He said I missed the first one F me. No, you got it. Right. Binge Watchers is my favorite podcast is correct.

Speaker 5:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

He was asking, I think he's asking. Right? So you're going to just qualify him.

Speaker 5:

Oh

Speaker 1:

Man.

Speaker 5:

How'd, you know, that's where I was going with that.

Speaker 1:

Oh. And interested in the, uh, the other title from shutter. And we'll, we'll get to that. We'll get to that soon, but first the naughty or nice meter. Um, your second chance to win a copy of buddy games. If you've listened to the podcast before, tell us about an episode you've listened to. That's your second chance to win. Your third chance to win will be to assemble the next magic sentence. And the first one is the first word is take I'm writing it down. So I don't forget either. Alright. Second chance to win. It starts with take, Oh, I think he's referring to Adam when Adam said he's playing too. We just got another comment. Folks says trying to steal the prize for us to, uh, Adam trying to play as a cohost. Uh, okay. So the naughty or nice segment we've arrived at. If you've seen these movies, we have some other stocking stuffers. They're not who are they worthy of an entire episode by themselves. Okay. If we were doing an anime episode, yes. We would talk about the SQL, the vampire Hunter D. And if we were doing a vampire movie special, we probably would at some point get to vampires fighting Abraham Lincoln. Right. Um, we didn't get to it before and we may, I don't know when we'll get to it, but there's literally a, what do we have millions of movies we need to watch. I'm not sure

Speaker 5:

If they're not worth it. There's a million movies out

Speaker 1:

There and we've seen thousands and we'll continue to binge watch thousands more, but, okay. So one of these movies is naughty and one of these movies are nice and we're going to tally between our opinions. And then it'll be interesting to see, because I like both these movies, but I can't wait to see how Dave and Nikki and AA Ray, these movies and it, if you want to play at home, go ahead and tell us what your rating is. If you've seen these movies. So I did not know that Abraham Lincoln fought vampires until I saw this historical documentary called Abraham Lincoln vampire killer. It's quite a hundred. He bloodless of course is the 2001, 2002 sequel to the original vampire Hunter D, which came out in the eighties. It's a great sequel. It has its own plot. I think it has a better villain than the original I'd want dangerous day to watch it. But he told me that he's already watched it like a thousand times. Cause he's the number one enemy King dog on the show. So naughty or nice ratings for vampire. I keep saying Navara before I said, Abraham Lincoln, Abraham Lincoln, vampire killer versus vampire Hunter D Bloodlust, which is your naughty, which is your nice, dangerous, um, they can't both be naughty. He said, can they both be? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Two noughties. All right. So if he got to going to stocking, he would let, not like either of them. Okay. So moving on to Nicky lights, naughty or nice Abraham Lincoln, vampire killer or vampire Hunter D bloodless

Speaker 5:

A hundred D both us naughty and Abraham Lincoln. Nice. Okay. So one nice Lincoln.

Speaker 1:

I like that director.

Speaker 2:

He didn't want to, he's crazy. He's a good director, but uh, yeah. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

We're not the board. Or if you're going to keep this train of rolling, not even a nice ratings for rare, uh, Abraham Lincoln, vampire killer or vampire Hunter D Bloodlust

Speaker 6:

Uh, I would have to say nice for vampire Hunter D and definitely naughty for Abraham Lincoln, vampire Hunter. How dare he kill all those vampires? It, matter of fact, it would have been a more interesting movie. If Lincoln had been the vampire vampire, Abraham Lincoln and the life emancipation proclamation. I don't know.

Speaker 1:

Oh man. So we have two noughties for vampire energy and one naughty for Lincoln and one nice for Lincoln. So, wow. I don't know. No, nothing's really pulling ahead. So I guess it's on me, right? Okay. So, Ooh. I love these movies both equally. I would be more than happy to get them in a stocking stuff. I love anime. I love horrific anime. I love supernatural bad for a hundred days. One of my favorite characters. Um, but then you have Abraham Lincoln, vampire killer. And again, you know, um, another reason to like Abraham Lincoln is he killed vampires in his youth. And that's, that's the history don't dispute it. It's written down in a book and you got to believe it.

Speaker 2:

Okay. I believe it was on Facebook. It must be true. Um,

Speaker 1:

Wow. Because it's not the original, I could leave bloodless behind. Wait, can I do double nice. Somebody's double naughty, right?

Speaker 2:

I did double naughty, naughty, naughty anyways, you know,

Speaker 1:

So, so guess what guys, because I pulled a double nice. Neither of them gets taken out. So anybody could receive these two movies and be happy or whatever. Um, the next magic word is another. If anybody's paying attention second chance to win a copy of the buddy games we've had, we'd have two magic words. All right. Okay. Now we've arrived at the ghost of podcast past, we dug up an old podcast. It was episode where recovered demons and terror vision and something else. But I can't remember what the other movie was. It was like the demons series. And it's, I think it was the demons demons too in here. So demons seems to tick. So we put, like to bring up three details and we have to revisit our past. It's the oldest episode. That's still available in the archive. So listen to, because it's, it's one of my all time. Favorite podcasts. It's the go, I call it the gold standard. Because if I, if you have 300 episodes and you go, John, I heard you have a podcast. You and your buddies, you know, Nikki and AA and dangerous. You guys got a podcast. Um, I don't have time for all of them. What can you send me too? I'd say like the most, the ones we're working on now, the they're kick and we're cruising right along. Or you want historical. Do you want to go back to the, almost the very beginning? You know, let's go to the ghost of podcast passed and if anybody can catch on, that's like a Scrooge reference, right. It goes to the, of, of Christmas, past those to podcasts pass. That's the reference. Um, and yeah, so if I had to revisit three new details about it, myself, what would I say about this episode? It was riveting. I've listened to this thing. Like seven times, I would say it's riveting. It has the formula of what makes a good podcast. And it's not stressful. The guys talking about these movies and I know it's us, but it's not us. Now it's us from the past. We really enjoyed what we were talking about. And all we wanted to do was tell other people about it. And that, that to me is if you were to break down all this stuff that we're trying to do with the marketing and the advertising, the emails, the websites, the sponsors, everything, if you took it all away and you happened to listen to that episode, I don't know, man. It can get you right. Look, I'm being serious. It means I to get you right in the heart. It's what a podcast should be. That's it? That's my revisiting and all that episode. AA. He's wiping fake tears.

Speaker 6:

Cheers.

Speaker 1:

Oh man. Oh, he's in that episode,

Speaker 6:

You can tell, we really enjoy films just in general. And for me, I had watched a lot of movies for a long time. I just been working around the film industry, doing different things. And uh, I had stopped watching movies. So to be on the podcast, it was like, okay, here's the list of movies like, Whoa, this is more movies. And I've seen in a long time. So that episode's interesting to me too, because I had watched a bunch of movies in a row and a genre that really wasn't, I didn't consider my thing. And it didn't feel like work. It was fun. Those are fun movies. So I had a good time on that one. So I'm glad it reflects it. And you have a memory of it. I want to go back and listen to it now because I have no idea what we even did on that. But if that's the gold standard, then time to go back. You can see Nick up there. He's contemplating going back. I'm like, Hmm. He was like, my finger is a mustache. My Mustachio Dave is listening to it right now. Look them

Speaker 1:

For reference points. All right, let's go over to dangerous. If you had to bring up three details. If you're revisiting the ghost of podcasts past, which is our episode, there's actually called, it's called hungry for sequels.

Speaker 2:

Hungry for sequels on demons too. Is that the one we're talking? Wait, which one are you talking about?

Speaker 1:

We talked to about the actual episode name is called hungry for sequels, but yeah. Oh, well

Speaker 2:

Those are three great movies. I have a particular fondness for terror vision. I mean, all of them really, um, they're, they're solid movies. Uh, you know, uh, demons scared the crap out of me as a kid. That's like one of those movies that stuck out in my head. So it was like fun to get to revisit that with you guys, a tear vision, his movie, I discovered in the last few years. So like anybody who gets a chance to see it, I try to point them to it. If you like weird, can't be Rocky horror, esque type stuff.

Speaker 1:

So Dave, it's more about, it's more about why they should revisit that episode. Not the movies specifics, what it's about, like why they should revisit the episodes podcast itself. Well, I think that was one of the,

Speaker 2:

We mentioned Adam was on it. It was one of the first ones I think we had Adam on. So that was like kind of a new element to the show. Um, so that was good. That was kind of fun. Um,

Speaker 1:

I haven't listened to the episode in a long time. I kind of like catch them. At least we do the episode, but I move on. I said, it's so great. I listened to it like seven times and I just did it again like four days ago to get ready for the show. I guess I was the only one. The next magic word is Gander. What kind of ties into the fact that nobody's nobody went back to the game. We had a lot of content to catch up with this week. I'm sorry. I'd explain it. Explain the game. What's on your plate. We watched like try to watch five movies this week. We tried to watch like

Speaker 2:

Movies this week. You know, it's hard to get hard to go back and plus I didn't travel anywhere. Do anything that warranted listening to a podcast.

Speaker 1:

Wow. He was living his life. Yeah. When you say there's nothing, there's no reason to go listen to him. No reason to listen to that.

Speaker 2:

Yeah. There's the weekend.

Speaker 1:

Ah, geez. Uh,

Speaker 2:

I have a talent for saying the wrong thing. The right way. The right way. The wrong. Yeah. It doesn't matter. All right.

Speaker 1:

We should move on to what else we're watching. Oh, wait, I got to take

Speaker 2:

Two.

Speaker 1:

Okay. The next, the next magic words are at and me. So if you can complete the whole sentence, you're going to want a copy of the buddy games. So first person to do that right in the comments. And then we'll get in contact with you about getting a copy of the buddy games. And then after that, we're going to be worn. We got to give away the pops and a year long shutter. So to get year long shutter, tell us about the shutter move we were talking about and his episode, the first person to tell us what shutter movie we're going to talk about and review and how and the promo code they should use for a free trial. Then you will get a year of shutter. Okay. Share it with three friends. So that's a couple of steps. First step is tell us the shutter movie. We reviewed, tell us a promo code for people to get free shutter for their, our free trial. And then send that to three of your friends. Do those steps. Get in contact with us. You'll get our free year of shelter. The first person to complete those activities is going to get shutter for the whole year. Uh, courtesy of us. That's we're going to stuff your stockings with that prize stuffing. I'm still typing messages,

Speaker 2:

Email that information to,

Speaker 1:

Um, anything else we're watching? We actually watched this movie called porno, which is on shutter, which I will not put in the podcast notes to the name of the movie because Facebook will flag it and they won't show this video to anyone. So I think like we were throwing out, we were debating the other week about, um, ed, what movies and we asked is, is he the worst director in history? And Facebook took the video down. So we're not going to do that again. And we're not going to actually throw out an opinion and we're not going to tell you the name of this movie. At least not in texts and contextual texts. We're not going to write it down anywhere, but it's called porno. It's kind of a play on words. It's not necessarily the movies pornographic, but it's kids who work at a theater, discovered the theater used to be a pornographic theater in the sixties. They find a cursed reel of film and lets out a sex demon and the kids are kind of repressed and hopped up. Right? They're kind of wound a little bit too tightly. We're going have this movie theater. There's a weird NCO man. Tie-in the only two movies are playing at this theater and the movie are and new man. And um, what's the baseball movie with the one with Madonna league of their own are the only two things playing in this joint. And there's a straight ad. You're running the projection booth, right? And you used to be an addict and he's wound way too tight. Then you got a couple of teenagers one-on-one to one of those root programming camps. Cause he's actually gay. It's not a problem that he's gay, but he got sent to one of those stupid reprogramming cans to try to change his whole lifestyle kind of screwed up. So he's confused. So they're all kind of there. One kid's a pervert. And then the other kid is just kind of like wants to get laid, which is kind of a natural thing for a young guy to want to do. So you've got these guys all mixed together in this theater, the girl gets promoted to the, to be the manager, right? And uh, then they pop in this real it's cursed. It lets a demon out. She tries to seduce everybody that she comes in contact with, including like the managers kind of a sleazy dude. And there's a lot of penis destruction in this movie and an insane amount of the screen men tell ya, I don't know if that's about somebody who's repressed sexuality, the writing of the screenplay. And then it makes it way on the screen. But you know where a cup when you watch this movie, you know what I'm saying? You know what I'm saying? Keep those boys tight, safe and out of boxes at home. You're going to this movie is terrifying only if you're worried about your anatomy. Uh, it's a little bit like demons, right?

Speaker 5:

A little bit. Yeah, yeah. A lot actually quite a bit like demons

Speaker 1:

Expand David.

Speaker 5:

Well, I mean, you know, somebody releases is an evil into a movie theater. People are trapped in the movie theater and have to fight off the evil basically demons. I mean when you break it down. Yeah,

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah. There's a famous movie from the eighties. Unexpanded um, called demons and the, it takes place with the curse movies playing the demons, come to life and they try to kill everybody in the theater also right down to, even in this movie on shutter, they had some of the weapons they use in the, on the mannequins, in the, uh, um, Bobby. Yeah. Which is like a big, a big deal in, in demons. But um, what'd you guys think what'd you guys think of this movie? Let's go with, uh, Nicky lights.

Speaker 5:

It was okay. I wasn't blown away. I would rather watch demons.

Speaker 1:

Okay. Fair enough.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I just don't watch go watch it. Go watch the original. Instead when you say you weren't blown away, is that an, is that indicative of you not falling for a succubus? Exactly. That's exactly what I'm saying. I'm not even talking about the movie right now guys. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You and the wife or? Yeah, I don't really know what happened. I don't even know what happened during the movie. Yeah. That's exactly. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Wow. Um, it's not bad for like a video on demand.

Speaker 5:

It's not bad. I'm just saying I would rather watch if you're going to recommend one in two people haven't seen this one or this one go that way. That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 1:

Sure. Go to the classic. Yeah. We won't be back for a couple of weeks. Uh, we're taking a break then we'll be, I don't know. You know, thanks for watching our giveaway episode. Um, I didn't see enough comments. I don't think we're going to give away any pops. And, but again, if you want shutter, you got to do those three things. You got to tell three friends about our promo. Tell me what the promo code was and what the movie reviewed on here. At least worth watching. It comes with the freaking service. You know what I mean? There's another one hundreds of movies on shutter. That's great. They're not going to feel like you lost your money at the concession stand or anything. You know what I mean for watching the movie? So take a look at it. Visit us at, uh, binge watchers.com or BW doc BW, podcast.com. If you want a shorter way to get in, um, visit Mack Weldon. If you want to try out their socks 20% off, otherwise we'll be back in a few weeks with another round upon to this binge Watchers thing. And maybe people won't listen. According to Dave, you don't have to listen to podcasts. Just don't have to listen to old episodes. Listen to us. If you haven't listened to it, I don't have to tell you, but listen to us.

Speaker 5:

But if you're traveling, but if you're traveling, listen to us. If you've got a plane flight listeners, don't have anywhere to travel for the holidays. Okay?

Speaker 4:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

I don't know. I mean Adam, that if we don't give away the free, we get to keep the free. I don't know what the rethink this. We've got a Santa clause that Nicolaides you want to take us out?

Speaker 5:

Heroin stuff. Got real. We talked about my favorite movie die hard. We talked about lethal weapon. I have a Santa hat. I'm looking cool. Demons are cool. Everyone's cool. We gave away some stuff and stuff got real, but we'll be back just cause we're late for a few weeks. Doesn't mean we're gone. You're playing with your Santa's ball and wanting to keep doing it. I wanted to give someone to look at my, I want to see if anyone knows my ball here. You're trying to figure out what side was the most sustained know if I should go right or left or which one? Hangs better. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Looks good. Looks good. Looks good.
