You know, people might be tired of virus movies because now we're like Now the jokes are wearing off. Like, you know, there's there's always means, you know, But now it's like, Oh, yeah, this is Hawk away. We're headed into the summer businesses. They're closing. People are getting laid off like, uh,

spk_2:   0:17
it's getting fucking really. Do you

spk_1:   0:20
like the government doesn't know how to cut people, you know,

spk_2:   0:24
like I live in a state that's pretty much all locked down right now. Yeah,

spk_1:   0:28
that's gonna be every state actually looked a National Guardsmen deployed. Whatever. I'm very happy that the Internet works. I'm very happy that they're our podcast. So listen to him. Very still. Walk on demand. I'm a little terrified about the grocery stores like there's a scene in the movie. I replayed it a couple times because, you know, they go to grocery store. There's nothing on the shelves and they're encountering infected people. You know, like, uh,

spk_0:   0:55
correct. Open a coal box of wine. Oh, pull something cold on eyes because it's the binge watches and

spk_1:   1:30
everybody in America is that we're walking this movie. Maybe other people are tuning in, but there's like a New York Times articles about popping up in Entertainment Weekly Like it's look everywhere. Everybody wants every possible virus movie, and Taejin comes around with me. 11 is a Soderbergh movie, right?

spk_2:   1:52
Yeah, Steven Soderbergh. So

spk_1:   1:53
one of the things you're a fan is what other stuff?

spk_2:   2:01
I mean, he's he's he floats between the indie world and big budget movies. Of course, he did. The ocean's 11 movies, at least the the results of the Clooney, um, at a site. Um, hot outside and Brockovich traffic. Uh, guy, the guy for like, a while would make a movie or two a year. Huge. Yeah, well, that's ah, that comes close to actually I addition to be an extra in that because they filmed it near where I lived. It was actually about a story about Hinkley, which is a suburb of where I grew up. So, like that story hit close to, like, really close to

spk_1:   2:40
home is also gonna be in the biopic about the original Del Taco Taco, Mr Taco. Steve Taco? Yeah, probably a rocket, which is probably the movie. Did he also make the movie with adult the non actors with the three people that weren't actors.

spk_2:   3:02
Oh, bubble. Yeah, Yeah, Those bubble. Yeah, which, actually, that was kind of, Ah, big deal at the time because it was the first movie that, um was released in theaters and then on DVD and video on demand within, like, a week. So it was, like, kind of the first depend toes into getting shit down to the video on demand and even the sooner which is actually, like, kind of a big deal right now. Yeah. Insane. He actually, he actually did another one like that. It was a horror movie, but he shot another movie on iPhone. Called a high flying bird for Netflix. Um, very good

spk_1:   3:48
folks. He's been around. He's done some things,

spk_2:   3:50
dude, he's ah, he's in like he's a workhorse. Like he just lives and breathes moviemaking like he pretty much shoots moves. Most of his movies, uh, edits them. Um, he's just like a guy that, like, really breathes filmmaking. Waas.

spk_1:   4:08
Funny. I just got a notification on my phone. Somebody responding to our email marketing about our podcast? Yes. We send out e mails now, um,

spk_2:   4:16
shame allowed,

spk_1:   4:17
called the cure for boredom. And, like the person wrote back with Like, uh, said, Do I need a mask way?

spk_2:   4:24
Sure.

spk_1:   4:25
We need a medical man. Oh. Anyway, so we're talking about contagion. Um, here's the story. According to Google, Beth returns for Minnesota from the Hong Kong business trip. She attributes how she's feeling to jetlag. However, two days later, she's dead. Dr. Teller, you know, doctors Towler shock husband that you have no idea what killed her. And then soon others start to exhibit the same symptoms. Global pandemic explodes. Doctors try to contain it, but they can't. And then, like societies, like collapsing in a blogger played by Jude Law Falls. Um, but this is one of Paltrow. My husband is Matt Damon movie. Also pass Kate Winslet. Laurence Fishburne, John Hawkes Ah, the movie's got I mean, it's it's a present. What you think? I guess it depends on what your experience of the Corona Viruses was probably like. I mean, if you're stuck in an emergency room somewhere, you're probably not watching. Maybe listening to podcasts, I don't know, but right. You definitely not watching this movie. It's too close to home. Uh, it's also really funny, like we're we're texting earlier, and I was like, You know, people might be tired of virus movies because now we're like Now the jokes are wearing off. Like, you know, there's there's always means, you know. But now it's like, Oh, yeah, this is the way we're headed into the summer businesses. They're closing. People are getting laid off like

spk_2:   5:45
it's getting fucking really

spk_1:   5:48
like people, you know,

spk_2:   5:52
like I live in a state that's pretty much all locked down right now. Yeah,

spk_1:   5:56
that's gonna be every state actually looked at National Guardsmen deployed Whatever. I'm very happy that the Internet works. I'm very happy that they're our podcast. So listen to me is to walk out a man. I'm a little terrified about the grocery stores like there's a scene in the movie. I replayed it a couple times because you know, they go to grocery store. There's nothing on the shelves and they're encountering infected people, you know, like whatever it's, it's not a good situation. Oh, end. I'm speaking about things that are on the mend. There's actually a star's field that we got going right now. Um, bigger reminder, you know, stars of the app for TV movies and more lost current and past seasons of stars. Original Siris, today's best movies and other favorites. Whenever wherever you are, you're probably stuck in your house so it's available. You can watch it on your computer, download on a smartphone or tablet. You watch whatever they had going before on their new movies. Right now, they're really just advertising like a new season of the Highlander show, which is like and there's from the twenties or whatever goes back in time and has a romance with, like, a Scottish dude. I don't know show Is

spk_2:   7:04
that the Outlander? But yes,

spk_1:   7:07
like Spider Man, you know where he's in Europe and fighting the guy that has illusion power, which really isn't like a power move. A Batman type deal, technology, Whatever. Come on. Three months, five bucks the link in the program. What stars?

spk_2:   7:24
It's a hell of a deal right now. Whatever people needed. People need things to watch at home right now.

spk_1:   7:32
Do you can actually on demand a a rental from them? So, yeah, sign up. No star cut looks pretty cool. Actually, they have, like they used to have a major Disney contract. But then what? Disney's doing their own thing, but I think Star still has some of their movies because they have a contract, you know?

spk_2:   7:50
Yeah.

spk_1:   7:50
Look, eventually they'll be on Disney, But right now Oh, speaking of, like, superhero type stuff, uh, I'm not giving so lost in what we're talking about.

spk_2:   8:03
So we just wrap up our, like, rapid contagion. Why? I got a few thoughts about it. Oh, she and she

spk_1:   8:15
knew a spoiler alert warning, But it's too late. You definitely. This movie has people that

spk_2:   8:20
Oh, sure.

spk_1:   8:21
Kate Winslet, Like she gets infected. She's, like, just chill in your hotel room and, uh, you know, the staff had it and she caught it. But, like, it's, uh, like Okay, well, obviously, when people this when we came out, nobody even cared. But they made this move, you

spk_2:   8:37
know, I saw it in the theater myself. I was like, that was entertaining. And then I walked away, and I didn't think about it until now. Oh,

spk_1:   8:44
yeah. No, it was like I might have been like, a movie. You watched on an airplane and then just forgot about it. It definitely wasn't like anything like whatever. Sure, Like the world will never be in. Oh, my gosh. It, then. Great. You know, I mean, yeah, yeah, I okay, I don't want to bring me down, so I don't want I mean, it wouldn't Wouldn't really service anybody to bring up their worst fears. You know, like, why should we be at the pulpit? You know, like protein Dire, dismal, abysmal. Typical stuff, you know. Well, guess on this we're not supposed to. You know, this morning I got up, dude. And like, there was a request for pancakes I bust out the griddle was like, Forget it. Let's make pancakes. It's the apocalypse. But let's do this. You know, great pancakes. I threw it up on social, and then I, uh I was, um, watching, like, turn on Wayne's world too.

spk_2:   9:42
Oh, nice.

spk_1:   9:42
Yeah. So, you know, I was like, Okay, here we go. Like, what would be really funny? Is it like the grocery stores did, in fact, run out of food and real life completely. But you still have the Internet and cable television and podcasts like like it be funny if the technology just kept going, But the basic stuff doesn't exist anymore. Gonna be that truly be like like a mad Max type situation, right?

spk_2:   10:06
Yeah,

spk_1:   10:07
we were in the future. We're having future problems. And I was, um, remember, like one version of the Star Trek universe was like, there's like a global shut down and economic collapse. And the one dude manages to slap a rocket together. And it's a warp signature engine, which is, you know, like a faster than light engine type deal or whatever. But the aliens recognize it. Come down and save the humans. And that's what starts Star Trek. I was like Okay, Yeah, like we're headed into these times where workers who knows, you know, and then, like I don't know, we're Omnivores. Humans were supposed to eat plants and animals and then, like, you know what works like, Oh, I don't wanna I don't want to see its face. Now this this might we might come down to. I have to walk in the woods and kill something and bring it back for my wife and kids. You know, who's like, totally prepared to do it when? I don't know. But she's like, I'm not gonna eat it. Why? Because it had a face because you knew where it came from, cause you watched me prepare it like I don't get it, You know, I mean, it just be really funny, if, like, it totally turned the anarchy. But But then there were still the Internet, so people could still check, you know, their Facebook status, You know, like, you know, just checked into the Thunderdome or something, right? I saw the National Guard was being mobilized, which is the mood, like, literally like the playbook for what's happening could be in this movie. But then I saw and article have you seen, like, the online articles about the movie or whatever? Have you looked at, like, this stuff?

spk_2:   11:36
Um, not too much, but, um, to contagion. Yeah. I mean, the I totally see the comparison the jaws of, like, you know, you're not gonna listen to the scientists and Baba bam. Um, yeah, I don't know. I was I got to say, this is turned into a pretty terrifying movie. Well, you know, I think I told you while, um, you know, we I watched this like, a week or so ago ahead of this, um, but I tried to watch it on my tablet at night, laying in bed with my wife, and for whatever reason, it kept buffering. So I gave up and said, All right, I'll watch it like the next night. But, uh,

spk_1:   12:15
what's funny about watching movies is you want to escape into them, and usually they're like a break from reality. Were like, uh, let's face it like it's a form of entertainment. But if you're having a bad day, you know, whatever you can turn something on that you like and disappear. No movie. This is not the movie to escape into

spk_2:   12:32
Oh, God, now

spk_1:   12:33
is Dave said, It's a nightmare. Um, I mean, yeah. I mean, you know, um, 20 years from now, who knows? Maybe we'll look back on it, just like, yeah, it was like a pre course or to something that really happened. And that's terrible. Pulled ourselves up. But did you see the Florida video of the Town Council meeting that, like, erupted into a fight?

spk_2:   12:56
Uh,

spk_1:   12:56
well, I mean, I mean, it's a fight. I mean, there were harsh words exchanged you right, people swearing at each other like City Councilman got into it with, like a guy that runs the utility company or something on the mayor, and he was equating it to look that they had some side deal in this town. And they had, like, cut people's electricity, a global crisis, and you're just hurting people's powers off, you know, Great. And then I could have been a recess is like, We don't need a recess and he, like, goes off. People are really grabbing onto that video, and they've shared it like everywhere. But 11 journalist was like writing down that he felt it was like Jaws like he was like thinking of contagion in related to the Corona virus in real life and then talking about how you know Josh showed you this stalker and it's like silent and you can't see it coming. It's an invisible killer and and that's, you know, that's what's his interpretation of, like the situation or whatever. Like I said at home, watching Wayne's world to making pancakes, who knows? Maybe it's the last pancake say, like I was also thinking like beggars can't be choosers at the grocery stores either, like, yeah, back of hot dogs is the only protein you're going to get. Maybe you get those hot dogs and you don't complain. You know, you just get the hawk. Um, food shippers. They're still shipping food. So that's cool.

spk_2:   14:18
Yeah. Yeah.

spk_1:   14:23
And then, like I started watching this crazy thing on Netflix, they hear about this documentary called Tiger.

spk_2:   14:28
I just want the first episode tonight if it's fucking nuts, right?

spk_1:   14:32
Yeah. This is like there's hillbillies, their own tigers. They sell the tigers. They're doing meth. They have trailers. The Tiger King himself is like a gay cowboy who sings, who tries to run for the governor. At one point, he was like, in one of the presidential race is like It's free, intense, but it's really good. It's riveting.

spk_2:   14:57
How many Evan said, Did you get into it? Oh,

spk_1:   15:00
do you not like I've already I've already been just I'm, like, almost done. I think I

spk_2:   15:03
got

spk_1:   15:04
it. You know, I'm already through it.

spk_2:   15:06
Oh, damn, cause I just literally watched the first episode, like maybe an hour team before recording. Right now,

spk_1:   15:14
there's a hometown thing for me, and I mean, Dave and I are both from the Southwest, so I don't want to say that these are our people, but

spk_2:   15:22
I've encountered people like them. Yeah,

spk_1:   15:24
David I know people like this. So, like for us to watch something like this, like way we can talk to these people But I was watching that. It's pretty thrilling to well explore their lives and listen to what their problems are for five minutes. And then the reason I got into Tiger King so quickly is like I got turned on to them. The mid million's scandalous.

spk_2:   15:48
It's a great documentary

spk_1:   15:51
of a true crime lately. Arms,

spk_2:   15:54
that's what I happen is so far

spk_1:   15:56
and then and I've just been watching stuff that I watched all the time. Like Like I said, I went back and was turning on. Just put on these world, too, in the background,

spk_2:   16:04
all right,

spk_1:   16:05
and then getting ready for all these cartoons that we're gonna watch. I'm trying to turn the Avon to some animate stuff, and that's gonna be coming up. We're gonna be doing a whole series on that stuff, right? That's the fun. Um, there's two. There's these two stories in the eighties that have, like a very similar story line. They're kind of like Blade Runner Re and the type of like film you are that they are, and they both have, like these detective type characters and one's called Demon City and once called Wicked City. But they literally both have humans interacting with demons. And there's like a special police force pretty much in each one. That police is like the demon activity in the city. So they sound exactly like the same movie.

spk_2:   16:46
And like

spk_1:   16:47
one of them, I was like, Oh, yeah, did go watch Demon City. And then I was thinking I was playing it back and I was like, Okay, this is not well, I think I'm really thinking of wicked city. And I looked at up on YouTube and I sent David Nick a clip. I'm like, Yeah, watch this demon sex magic This lady unleashes on the main character of 47 minutes in you take a look at that. That's what's going on. What's too much A crazy enemy we actually are gonna rip into, like trained of the song is that

spk_2:   17:18
you saw him again. So

spk_1:   17:20
like, and the black death will get a little medieval virus stuff happening. See how they dealt with that 8 13 80 pandemic? I think we disagreed with somebody that you just taken axe to the head.

spk_2:   17:32
Yeah, maybe nobody didn't by chance

spk_1:   17:35
adjust my axe. Are you talking about? Look at the long sword out. We'll deal with this right now. You know,

spk_2:   17:40
way off your head you

spk_1:   17:42
need is, like somebody like Jack Burton to show up in ST have a look. You know, have Kurt Russell show up. Is his character from big trouble in little China. Everything will work itself out after that.

spk_2:   17:52
This open a workshop express

spk_1:   17:56
pull up. You know, having I don't know what else to say. What do you want?

spk_2:   18:04
Um, I've been kitchen up mean because being the wife and, well, everybody in America are gonna be indoor kids for a while. Um, I stopped to go exactly

spk_1:   18:15
when your parents work all the time. You live in an apartment complex.

spk_2:   18:18
Latchkey kids. Yeah. Um, although I I work for an essential service, so I still have to go to work during these times. Um, it is what it is, so Yeah,

spk_1:   18:34
well, just

spk_2:   18:35
so we've been creating lists of, like, TV series and shit that we haven't caught up on, So I've been watching a lot of westworld catching up on that. That's a great show. Actually, no. We're still in the first season where that way kept saying the previews for the new season were like, We'll have a fuck did to get there. So we're on a journey with West Will's right now

spk_1:   18:54
from was probably ruining.

spk_2:   18:57
No, it's actually enticing me because I kind of see it, and I don't know what the fuck how it's going to get there. So I'm like, All right, so now we started watching it. Um, but, you

spk_1:   19:07
know, there's robots involved.

spk_2:   19:09
Well, of course, that's they know. Sure that in the first episode, um, let's see, we've been kissed upon. Very, um, dipped our toes in the ultra carbon were just kind of like doing a hodgepodge of, like, shows. We haven't watched late recently, so we can kind of see what we want. A binge next. And so far, West World is kind of at the front of what we're bingeing right now. Um,

spk_1:   19:31
so I take it you're not going go out and kill things for your family days. You didn't jump in when I was saying like I'm prepared to walk out of the woods and killed him.

spk_2:   19:40
Uh, I'll just hit a deer. That's we got a lot of deer in Syria. I'll call you a car. Sure. Where that was, it could happen. Uh, I

spk_1:   19:53
owe their invade their infested with ticks. Don't get that.

spk_2:   19:58
As far as other things I've been watching, I did catch up with all the selection of, like, movies that were in theaters that you could rent at home. Now I watched the hunt, which is actually really good. It's really fun. Um, and then I watched onward today the new Pixar movie that I was gonna How is that

spk_1:   20:15
I was out?

spk_2:   20:16
Uh, just like any Pixar movie. It tugs at your heartstrings at a point and got to mind kind of. It's like middle tier, like it's not cars Too bad, but it's not, You know, it's not up love or Wally. Yeah, it kind of is because I thought they were aliens. And then I found out they were I you know, but, uh, yeah, exactly. But actually, it's what it was worth it I liked it.

spk_1:   20:47
I'm glad they rushed rise of Skywalker or whatever on the man gonna go download. Download that watch again. Oh, books. If you actually. Do you wanna watch contagion? And you haven't already bought the movie online. Or like,

spk_2:   21:02
Oh, you can go find my link. Sorry. I said, if you want to go by my copy that I just watched. It's on eBay for the next couple days.

spk_1:   21:12
Talk that shit on eBay. I forgot. No. Yeah. Go, go. Find dangerous is Dave's copy if you want to buy from him or you could just ever Amazon Link and just watch.

spk_2:   21:22
It's currently at $15.50 at the moment.

spk_1:   21:25
And as he said, a bunch of movies air coming out directive video because they're not gonna be released in theaters. So take advantage of free rental from red box by grabbing our link the red box and, like, watch every move There you go. Otherwise, you know, um, gets time to get Rambo style up in the world and prepare for, you know, building into the thunderdome for a partner and, um heavy. Great. Actually, uh, have you seen all the celebrities making these freakin like hopped up videos like this is

spk_2:   22:01
no

spk_1:   22:01
riding out. The quarantine is like literally every celebrity. It's making instagram video while you're not on Instagram, but they're making Instagram videos and Facebook videos and look, they're all over social video. Literally. Every one of them is in the hot tub

spk_2:   22:14
here. So it

spk_1:   22:16
would be funny if, you know somebody came up with, like, a hot tub. Siri's direct, you know? I mean, basically, like all the movies they're going to straight to video, right? So you have the new TV series to just be, like, literally like hot tubs you like, Uh oh, that's what's cool about the reader. I'm alone back. Thank you.

spk_2:   22:36
What? That

spk_1:   22:36
was like, There's a 10 minute, um, video channel. It's like starting up online, called Q B, like all

spk_2:   22:42
those shows

spk_1:   22:43
are gonna be 10 minutes or less. I

spk_2:   22:45
heard about this

spk_1:   22:46
and they're going Reno, 911 And they just posted, like, a preview of Communists. Tom London's character like losing his shit. Everything's you know how they always did. Folks, if you haven't seen Reno 911 that would be a great big watch. Weekend is like Go find all the old seasons of Reno nine like Comedy Central Demand or something. And if you have a cable package or probably come with it. Otherwise, maybe who has it? I'm not sure who owns

spk_2:   23:11
Clear please. TV shows it from time to time.

spk_1:   23:14
Yeah, so you go far. It's hilarious. It's basically like a fakes Cops TV show, like how cops was. You know, we're just like these patrol videos, but it's a bunch of comedians, like improv ing, you know, improvising. It's

spk_2:   23:31
been a while since I've seen the whole Siri's. I've caught episodes here and there's reruns, but well,

spk_1:   23:36
and if you're really into, like digging up people's greatest hits, I found, like, probably one of my favorite episodes, digging through the archives to, like Prep Fire, our Website and I video. And then I made a preview, and I listen to the episode. Um, it's the hungry for Sequels episode that we did a couple years ago, but we were talking about demons and demons, too, and Dave brought up this movie called Terror Vision. Uh, that's pretty cool. So maybe I'll put that in the podcast. Now it's a link to that episode, and if not, you could jump over to our social media were out, were everywhere we got Twitter, instagram, Facebook. You can see like the other videos we posted or grab some tags to some old episodes that are really cool to take a look at. Otherwise, I'm hoping will be back next week with a new podcast. Look, I'm taking it day by day right now. You know who's like,

spk_2:   24:26
right?

spk_1:   24:26
Tomorrow we wake up. Okay? Electricity. Cool. We'll watch some more movies. All right, We got the Internet. Okay, Well, podcast sounds great, you know?

spk_2:   24:35
Well, if we were about Internet, I could still I saw plenty to watch. As long as we still have electricity, Something healthy. Disc election. Not everybody does. Rare

spk_1:   24:50
vodkas, water. You know that, right?

spk_2:   24:53
