So

spk_1:   0:02
what's funny is like we tried to get ahead of the Corona virus ourselves. Here is much as you can get ahead of the podcast. Obviously, we don't have any emergency response teams like we hope our government has. But

spk_2:   0:14
her were least

spk_1:   0:15
talk about viral outbreak movies. I mean, that's really what we could do is keep you entertained while you sit home frightened. Um, but so far your Internet still works and your cable TV still work, so that's something to think about. Even though you don't have bread, you can at least be starving and be entertained while you're starving. It'll save me on that. But it's really funny is like Gabe kind of lead out these hits, and we started watching last week. We did a drama, The strain, and so we're like wine and everything else up. You know, we'll be talking about outbreak and contagion and, like, uh, you know, some other things that are kind of related. We're actually gonna get medieval. At one point, we'll be talking about the black plague or black death, whatever that movie is with the guy who played Boram here in Lord of the Rings, listening he's in all these things. He also played, You know, the feel fated Ned Stark on Game of Thrones. Sean Bean. Here we go. We'll cram it all that stuff, folks. But tonight we're talking about Outbreak. And what's funny about talking about it tonight is it just hit the top 10 on Netflix. Netflix complain it all week. And that wasn't like the top 10 trending films.

spk_0:   1:24
Correct. Open a coal box of wine. Opal. Something cold on eyes because it's the binge watches and all right, Well,

spk_1:   1:59
And like God's favorite human being, Tom Hanks has the Corona virus. So I was thinking like, All right, if Tom Hanks isn't safe, we're all screwed because there's no hope for the rest of us. If, you know human Number one is

spk_2:   2:17
America's dad.

spk_1:   2:18
Yeah, exactly. Americans. Dad is corn deed in Australia with his wife. Read Wilson right now. Infected. So there you go. There's not much hope for the rest. And now on with the show. Oh, man. So, you know, I think like outbreak is gonna be like Dustin Hoffman's only chance to be in action, sir.

spk_2:   2:40
Ah, I think so. I mean, well, they try. They think after this it did sphere, which I guess was kind of like a long, same level. But yeah, this might be the Tops.

spk_1:   2:50
Yeah. I mean, you're right. He does play a science in that movie, and there's some suspense and action. And then, believe me, that's more like a science fiction, I guess. You know, they're saying that outbreak might be plausible. I mean, definitely a monkey different. You introduced a virus to humans, but it's fairly over the top and suffers that great like 19 nineties curse that all the nineties movies have. They're so exaggerated. And the stunts are so out of this world, like everything's just bigger and bigger and bigger and bigger, and you just go okay at some point, man, there's too much butter on this popcorn, you know? Yeah, it falls to a popcorn movie thing for me. They've David to the same couple years ago, where he's like movies like a Guilty pleasure. And some movies are not just guilty pleasure. There also a popcorn movie, which is, like, essentially you. I mean, in my mind, I interpret what they've said is like and Dave can tell you the second what he actually means my popcorn movie. But in my mind I think of it like, Okay, you paid for the price of popcorn and NASA. As good as the movie's gonna be like, it's worth the popcorn. I mean, is that wrong? Is that a good

spk_2:   3:57
interpreter so long? I mean, sometimes a popcorn movie for me just means just something that's entertaining but doesn't necessarily mean It's like a great movie. I mean, you know, But that I don't know. Sometimes they cross, you know, uh, to be in great movie and popcorn movie like Gladiator. I think it's kind of that.

spk_1:   4:16
Yeah, Okay, fair enough. And and again, I think I said, like Gladiator for me is like much more than a much more than a popcorn injury. I think

spk_2:   4:25
I think it walks. I walk the line to this entertaining as hell, but it also has sure artistic merit. Uh, I I really I thought this was a genuinely good movie when I was young, when I was younger. I haven't I mean, it's not bad now, but it's kind of hit. The note has been melodramatic bit action centric. What is also trying to be serious Yes, I've

spk_1:   4:47
really, really exaggerated them. Like at one point, Like, you know, they're talking down a a giant bombing plane that's armed with, like, uh, almost immediately. It's like it's like one step. It's a hydrant hydrant bomb, I think, are some crab bomb. It's like one step down from a nuclear bomb. Some kind of bomb was attracted, bomb and like, first of all, I don't think a helicopter can get as high as those planes fly, right? Yeah, but it's not possible that the guys flying the plane would disobey a direct order and not drop a bomb. And it's not possible that the other guy would be able to steal the helicopter, and it just happens that the guy Okay, I guess I should back up in illustrate what school that's happening in this movie in the sixties. To Army doctors show up in a village that's played by something called Motaba Virus. They have no way to deal with it, so they take a sample of the virus and then they go scorched earth and drop a bomb on the village, kill everybody, wipe their hands clean of it, move on, replicating virus, store away an antibody or something or, um, the vaccine in case they encounter it again. Jump to modern day. Uh, there's an infected village, There's a monkey, the monkey gets on a ship and the guy is sharing food with them. For whatever reason, the guy who works on a boat thing is a good idea to share food with a monkey. Like I mean, I mean, I guess there's no common sense in the mid nineties and then, like the monkey gets sold to do that just sells monkeys to pet stores played by Patrick Dempsey. Then he said, people are dying very quickly, like within two days. They're like bleeding out of the rivals. They're dead. So the National Guard mobilizes those Army guys that were involved in the sixties get word that it might be the same thing. And then they call their favorite guy, who happens to be Dustin Hoffman and again, like they drop the most nineties type stories into this like, But you're rightly. When I was a kid, I thought this was a much better in my mind. This was a better movie, like I only this is my second go around with the movie, but I remember better than itwas and then, like, they immediately drop in a plot where oh, the main guy has, like a relationship problem with his ex wife. But she's still on his team. I'm like, Oh, man, forcing stakes right away. He wouldn't be forcing conflict that way. Learned, you know, back in the film school, Days of conflict, One of one like Okay, your main character, He's a guy that researchers pathology of viruses. But, you know, that's just not complex enough. So is to, you know, his top researcher has to be his ex wife, and they're about to get a divorce, and then they're gonna butt heads for an hour and 1/2. We gotta put that in the story. Make sure, you know, I feel like that's what our instructors would put that like. You're simply telling this story about a guy that's got a fight, a monkey virus, and then your circuit comes along and says, Well, I don't know about the relationships in here. I think you need to put a wife in there. There's gonna

spk_2:   7:38
be some

spk_1:   7:39
conflict. Eight. I'm saying. So this woman gets his little magic crew together also includes Kevin Spacey and, um, And if anybody is like hating on Kevin Spacey for all the scandalous they're going on, you appreciate in this movie. Spoiler alert. Skip ahead. If you don't want to hear it about an hour into this movie, he gets infected. He's bleeding into his eyeballs, dies in a hospital bed. So if you want some, you're raging on. Kept the Kevin Spacey situation in real life. You'll love this movie for that part. You can take a picture of him bloody and destroyed anyway. Doesn't often gets a crack team together in Cuba. Gooding Jr is like the new rookie recruit. They hear the Moto things breaking out in another village again and again. The monkey escapes, you know, like I said, and he boards an agent boat. He's on his way to San Francisco. Whatever. And, uh, I'm just gonna hang out there in the redwood trees or whatever, and, uh, I don't think it at first. They know they're looking for a monkey and the Army guys, they're still trying to cover it up because now one of the general and the other one's like a kernel of this special ops team that investigates the viruses or whatever. It doesn't want to reveal its Maurin Freeman, right? He's a senior officer, doesn't want to reveal too. Just happened. What he knows so right, the virus spreads like wildfire. Like pretty much his fastest Coronas Freddy. In real life, this thing goes really fast. But this thing kills a lot harder than Corona kills this outbreak of disease. Um is killing left and right And it's pretty scary cause, like contact. And at one point I think it mutates, and then it becomes airborne, and then they're just totally fucked at the hospital in this little town again. They're considering, like, you know, blowing, blowing it up again. And you can't lose the hometown. Feel well, you know, David, you know what has the hometown feel? You know, it feels like America us feels like home cooking is experiencing full plates and full of wallets with America's best value meal kit, you're gonna get the mills you'll enjoy, and your bank account is gonna love it, and it's delivered right to your door. Think about this thing. One meal is the same. Price is a cup of coffee. That's I'm talking about every plate. I'm talking about every place dinner's being the cheaper alternative to takeout or delivery. Recipes come together in about 30 minutes. It's definitely faster than a trip to the grocery store and starting a meal from scratch. You could have less time deciding what to cook. That means more time spent enjoying good food with your family, everyplace easy to fall recipes and proportion ingredients. Take the stress out of dinner time everyplace. Gonna do the meal planning, shopping and present for you. It's gonna take the time consuming guesswork out of cooking. You never gonna have to buy more ingredients than you need, because every place recipes come with everything pre measured. Every plate is constantly expanding their shipment zones. Check to make sure your zip goes, including where the shipping out a check out. Now I also want to say that these milk it you've heard about him. What are they? Isn't a hot pocket that comes frozen. I'm actually pretty surprised. I would say I was skeptical first cause like they're expensive and I found out every place 50% cheaper than its competitors and nothing frozen. Everything shows up. It's fresh ingredients. Open my box. It was like open like a president on Christmas Day. Honestly, I felt like I was getting rewarded for something the rewarded of, like, the reward of just let the effort of ordering fresh food. And it came right to me like I was really surprised. Opened it up. You had fresh vegetables, were talking. There were carrots. They're waas, uh, these little fresh potatoes, the kind of guy I like was like gold potatoes. There was a race that close of garlic was really surprised me. I didn't expect to see Flo Cloves of garlic. They had all the proteins and free packs. They have these easy fall recipe plans. I think. Actually, I beat their standard of 1/2 an hour. I think I got a meal together in, like, 15 minutes. I was just blown away. But the president actually think is what what sold me on every plate and what you do is folks, if you want, you get three weeks of every plate meals for only 2 99 per meal. Like every plate dot com, you're gonna enter our promo code Binge watchers. Three. I won't let you know again. I'm going to get this meal delivered three weeks, every plate, meals too many nine per meal. Go to every plate dot com and enter promo code Bid watchers. Three. I'm ask nobody about it. They send a box of David David. What do you think?

spk_2:   11:54
Oh, man, it was delicious. I had actually one of the best burgers I've ever had from now a lot of their milk. It's It was easy to make.

spk_1:   12:02
I think that I think that's like the main thing is like way put the shows together. We got day jobs, were working on creative projects, and I think, like for creative professionals, young professionals, you just can't think about putting together deals. That's not what your grandmother did, right? But you could get this sent to you. And if you want to try it out, you can enter our promo code at every plate dot com promo code been washers three. But the town in this movie doesn't have the luxury of ordering meals. These people are locked down tight, like these people an outbreak. I would say you're having the worst week of their lives, definitely the worst time of their lives, and then doesn't Hoffman jumps in a Humvee, and he's cruising through the town. And at some point his only concern is no longer finding the that, like isolating the host, getting the vaccine he's singlemindedly and, selfishly, he just wants to fix his wife was now, in fact, and again they set that steak up earlier in the movie because she's on his team of specialists, right? She makes a mistake. She gets infected. And suddenly the movie is about doesn't Hoffman trying to save his wife's character? And one of the most ridiculous things that I think now is an adult watching the movie is the pressure he puts on the little girl to tell him where the monkey is, like like she's gonna save everyone and gonna say he like he, like, hold her by the shoulders and says, You got to do this. You gotta tell me about the monkey and everything you could think of because I gotta save My wife was in a hospital bed. Do you put that kind of pressure on like a eight year old kid? You know that being

spk_2:   13:45
like there's also like more than just your wife out there dying like dude, yeah, everybody

spk_1:   13:49
at this point like there's 1000 people sick like they shut down the whole town in the National Guard There, you know, like they're separating families because summer infected, some aren't. And again, doesn't. Hoffman. This is his action movie like there's a major stunt in the movie. You know, this character has a helicopter on top of a life raft that's covered with the tarp so he could get onto the boat where the monkey supposedly came from. That started this whole outbreak. And, you know, they have essentially this side of like, the helicopter, which is we know the side of the helicopters probably built in the studio. And he's in front of like, a yeah, probably a blue screen, because they weren't really green screening in the mid nineties, or even like it could have just been like, remember those big film composites? What do they call those? But they've blown up the image in the studio. I mean, like, you're back, you know, it could have been it could have been a backdrop that they put him against, and like so his character jumps and then, like, it's a stop man. So, like the biggest set up in the movie is, you know, jumping from the helicopter to the biggest set in the movies from the helicopter, too platform on the boat and like that's his stuntman. But I'm like So Hoffman gets the script right? And, folks, this is not like Hollywood fax or anything. We have some stuff from a CDC guy that watched the movie. We're gonna We're gonna go over this article that I like, But right now I just I just want to bring up like my thoughts on you know what might have been. I'm just imagining. This is like a fantasy scenario. Hoffman gets the script, and he's like, You know, one day I'll get to be an action star. You know, I'm not as tall is like golf longer. But you know, one day, like I'm only couple into shorter than Tom Cruise. He stands on an apple box. Maybe one day I'll get there, I'll get my top gun. I'll do something, gets the script. It's full of speeches. At one point, he's like, Oh my God, I'm talking down! The plane's about to drop the nuclear bomb on the town. I got another speech to a little girl. I got this other speech in the jungle. I got at least I got five speeches in the script. Oh, my God. I'm gonna jump on a boat. This is it. This is it. This is my fucking die hard. This is it. You and Hoffman signs onto the movie. You know, He's like, Who am I going up against? You gotta get me somebody Good. Give me something good. Are you gonna get me a subtle You're gonna give me the old seven. All right, Who else you got? You got Morgan Freeman. You wait. Hold on. Hold on. You got me going. Open this. Morgan Freeman, This is Oscar bait right here. Who's gonna play my wife? Who's gonna play? My wife? Is Michelle Pfeiffer. Rebel? Know who's avail Ruso. Ruso. Put Russo anywhere. Okay, Okay. He's graduated. He's no longer hitting on the mother. He's got his own little lady and the driving Humvees, and he's jumping off helicopters. Hoffman, you made you fucking made it, brother. You know, um, yes, it's pretty overtop, but, uh, I know what people are obviously watching Netflix because there's a pandemic in the actual world that we're living in currently, right? Um,

spk_2:   16:47
like, straight up for real pandemic, like June, the 1st 1 in over 100 years.

spk_1:   16:53
Well, like you like it. The thing that's really getting my paranoia going is like there's no trucks on the road like I'm talking delivery trucks like trucks deliver food and goods to sundries stores on Wednesdays. I didn't see any trucks on Wednesday. Like our major industry in United States is transportation. I haven't seen any delivery truck. The bread's gone out of the stores. Uh, most of the milk has gone, and like, I see people fighting over pork chops, man, the other day, you know, like you. So it's kind of ridiculous, but the whole fascination with, like, toilet paper. Okay, First of all, you're not worried that the American dollars going to collapse because we're headed into a recession. You're not concerned that nobody's replenishing the actual food that we eat. You're concerned that what you're gonna shoot yourselves to death and you

spk_2:   17:39
get

spk_1:   17:39
all the paper in the world? Not just an average the amount of whomever you buy in a week for your family. You like you want all the toilet paper like every single role for the paper. Apparently, I think the thing that's gonna be more valuable than money when the stock market does crash completely crash that will be trading toilet paper instead of capturing like it won't be. It won't be money that's valuable. It'll just be like for the paper.

spk_2:   18:03
Yeah.

spk_1:   18:04
Have you had any? Anything, like, personal? Like you got any stories to share about? Like what You think so far?

spk_2:   18:10
I don't know, man. I That stuff hasn't really hit us here. I mean, we're kind of we're kind of prepared. We were, um We had some supplies anyways because of we've had the P genie shit ends up here. So we've already had, like, some supplies of food, But we bought, you know, extra. We've got a lot of dragons and staff, but, um, we're not gonna go. You know, we have paid toilet paper on the shelves, like here. We've got food, was getting dwindling, but it isn't completely gone yet. Here. We just did some shopping yesterday for general stock up stuff, so Oh, uh, mania hasn't hit here yet. Wow. Fair

spk_1:   18:48
enough. I mean, like, I might our outside of the city but like today, the governor out here in Massachusetts, just ah, um, you know, declared like shut down all the schools and Colin Wolfe for at least three weeks.

spk_2:   19:01
Yeah, it looks like my wife. My wife is a teacher. Looks like her school's been shut down for three weeks. Um, I'm a social worker. I literally go into clients, homes who fit the bill for the bat, Uh, for being susceptible to this, like breathing issues and shit. And I'm like, Oh, my God, like I don't get it. What if I give it to somebody? You know,

spk_1:   19:21
I heard I heard the government's asking like restaurants and public places like Just shut down completely. And I know they canceled, like every concert imaginable or until the summer. Maybe who knows? Like an and and, you know, Hollywood is definitely taking a hit. I mean, the next 25 movies that are coming out of the theatres are canceled essentially right, including, like Jurassic Park. It's really like part six or seven, but you know, it has its own parts, cause it's called resin world. But we all know it's dress apart. Their direct Sequels, which is kind of unique, actually, Yeah, the fact that their direct Sequels, but I'm kind of going off on a tangent. I was talking with the Hollywood movies later, but I was I wanted meanwhile, Okay, Outbreak was a huge blockbuster type movie. I don't know if he did that well, when it first came out like I reverted. One thing that said it didn't do well, but I always thought it didn't well, so I don't I don't know. But, um uh, yeah, this guy, the CDC person says It's pure Hollywood fiction and be specific. I'm talking about Brian Eamon, who's like an Ecologist who happens to work for the CDC, Um, Center for Disease Control. And he was talking originally toe wired dot com or Wired magazine. Um, yeah, yeah, you see people shaking hands. He's talking about Outbreak in the movie, he said. That is never an outbreak carrier. If there's some kind of greeting is double the elbow, you're saying the movie is total chaos. It's a mess. Pure Hollywood fiction. And then he talks about the virus origin scene, he says. You know, I don't know where begin. What can I talk about? The fact that there's a South American monkey that they caught in Africa. Question mark. He

spk_2:   20:53
also

spk_1:   20:54
said, Generally, the viruses that you've seen in these clips are basically Hollywood fiction and real life viruses. If they're out there, are hardly ever, if it all as fast acting as what you had seen in these clothes. And then he goes on to talk about the similarities between Corn of Eyes in Real Life and Outbreak is a film. But the freaky thing is this guy and another woman who worked with the CDC named Crazy McNamara was, Ah, veterinary pathologist. We're talking about contagion, right comparison and specifically on folks. We're gonna do contagion to what we're getting to it. Like I said, we have ah, little viral hits list. But look the best outbreak type movies, right? So they're saying about that movie that they're accurate about the statistic of, like touch being an issue like that, the average person touches their face to 3000 times a day that, um, in contagion. It would take a long time to take a vaccine because it has get approved by all the agencies, including the FDA. And it's a Link Lee testing process in that movie. I think it's kind of fast and and an outbreak. It happens in, like, three second takes a guy like five seconds

spk_2:   22:03
and computer

spk_1:   22:04
to make a vaccine. And then immediately here's the wife. So in reality, if that wife was infected, she probably would die. But again, everything is exaggerated. Movie like you stop a nuclear bomb by dropping somewhere else. You stop an entire playing with the helicopter, you take a general under court martial, which wouldn't happen today under the operation we have. Forget it. No, general. Probably gonna be in trouble for anything. You know, he immediately gets taken into custody by his, like, third in command. Which wouldn't happen. Probably more reframe. This character wouldn't like give up the cover off because he's involved in, like, well covered up the virus in the sixties. And I don't think you would give up his cushy position as a colonel. This sounds really negative, folks, but I just don't think it would happen. But, uh, it is true that the capacity for animals to carry viruses could infect humans, and they're obviously linking, you know, the real life corona virus to an animal market in Wuhan is kind of where we're at and contingent is a much war disturbing movie. Then I think outbreak is outbreak a Serie because of the violence of the virus. Like how bloody and terrifying. It's kind of

spk_2:   23:08
a relief,

spk_1:   23:08
actually, some parts of outbreak but the reality of contagion like there's a scene in there where people are fighting the grocery stores. And, like I just said in this podcast, like I just saw that, like, literally a couple days ago, you know, like watching like a soccer mom and a grandmother. Duke it out for yogurt and and two ladies, like I said, bumping elbows, trying to get the pork chops. I saw a video online where people we're literally bashing each other in for the road for the paper, right? So it doesn't take much for Americans to, like, really turn on each other. It really doesn't. And we're not. Even this is not even like the most serious problem that Americans face and you know, But then Mother Nature screws with us to like I'm reading that leg. You know, nature has to balance itself in like every 100 years. It's like it's got a tip the population, you know? So who knows? Maybe just thinning of the herd. It's part of a whole

spk_2:   23:58
process, right? I don't know.

spk_1:   24:01
That was really like you won the first game. We're talking about this like the first guy in Jersey that got it, like, refused to abide by the quarantine like they told him. Stay home. We volunteered to stay home like he immediately went out somewhere. Like that's the most American thing to do

spk_2:   24:13
is

spk_1:   24:13
hold to be quarantined. But you're Americans like hell. Yeah, America, You know, like crackle like put your hat on, Let's go. Thio Miller time. That totally makes sense. City that somebody wouldn't stay quarantined, at least in the United States. Now, green articles are, well, not articles like every Twitter Post, which I guess I'm calling articles in this example. I don't know why, but, uh uh, you know, I was reading Twitter thing about like, you know, like other countries are advising. There it was like under region Health Board was inviting Norwegians that happening the America to try to get back to Norway because their health of truckers like non existent, like you don't even like healthcare strategies. Just aren't there. So if you're abroad, come home essentially so kind of interesting. But if you're afraid to go to the story because you're going to catch it, if you're afraid to go to a restaurant, you're gonna catch it. Hey, man, just plugging a promo code Binge Watchers three on every plate dot Com Have somebody sent your food to you? Your second? Like

spk_2:   25:17
where You.

spk_1:   25:18
And if you're bored and you don't know what to watch, check it out in our podcast notes. We have a link. You can get stars for three months for five bucks a month for 15 bucks. You see all the movies on stars. That sounds pretty good to me. I don't know. I'm just a binge watcher. What, All I know, snacks and movies on other bids because you think it wouldn't be that hard. It's a fickle bunch. So if you like what we talked about, join us next week as we continue this, if the Internet exists, if they haven't got it off and Intel wasn't exists, we don't know exactly how things you don't play out, you know, we really don't know. Um, Dave, uh, let's talk about other things. Let's let's let's try toe trying to like Oh, well, I guess we should have final thoughts on Outbreak.

spk_2:   26:05
It's It's okay. It's not as good as I remember. I actually wouldn't watch the episode of ah clerks in the animated series afterwards that did basically, ah, whole parody of Outbreak that was entertaining.

spk_1:   26:20
Yeah, I could live without it. I rewatched contagion, all ready for our next go around And it's my like It's more

spk_2:   26:31
so much

spk_1:   26:31
drama of strange more than I like.

spk_2:   26:36
Yeah, I'm surprised. I was looking forward to reading, visiting this one, and it is not hold up a CZ. Well, as I would expect it, right? Kind of a bummer.

spk_1:   26:47
There are quite a few movies I'm looking forward to seeing, and hopefully they actually do get the theaters. I mean, if that's a thing this corrected by April, who knows? I'm looking ahead. I'm looking past all March movies. Now I'm looking past April movies. I'm going right into May. There's a movie called Dream Wars coming out. We're told me. Colette, have you heard about this one? Well, so Dream horse is like a a lady and her community band together to raise a racehorse, and then it happens to like, start to win races. So Dream Horse, Yeah, seemed interesting and I, like only collect so all probably check

spk_2:   27:22
it out.

spk_1:   27:23
No, couple weeks later, like May 29th is The Green Knight, which is like a horror movie, but based on King Arthur legend type stuff. But it looks like Did you ever see the old Excalibur movie that came out like way back in the day?

spk_2:   27:36
Yeah, yeah,

spk_1:   27:37
it's really dark and sinister, like that movie, but Sergei when encounters Degree Night. But the Green Knight in here is like a terrifying, horrific, demonic like presence. I don't like wow, like a medieval horror movie. That's kind of cool. The only thing that has ever really done that before was like Navy Army of Darkness, right?

spk_2:   27:55
Yeah, that's about it.

spk_1:   27:57
And then, ah, same week, May 29th is the irresistible with Steve Carell, and that's have you seen the previous for? This looks really good. Like he tries to get like a a veteran to run for mayor of the town.

spk_2:   28:12
Uh,

spk_1:   28:13
you see the previous

spk_2:   28:14
No, I haven't seen it just really a

spk_1:   28:17
comedy, but it looks like it's gonna be pretty good. And then, like, it looks like this guy used to be like some kind of a presidential campaign or something like he leaves like the Establishment. But then, like his competition follows him right and is supporting somebody else for the mayor candidate in that town or whatever. Looks interesting. And then, huh? What's your name? Miranda. Julie is coming back with a new film called Julian There, which is about like career criminals or petty criminals, played by Richard Jenkins like They're the Mom and Dad, Rich trinkets and Debra Winger, whose adult daughter has been raised by them just to be like into these con artist type things ever. Evan Rachel Wood that the movie is called Julia. Now, folks, if you don't know gradually go back and revisit this movie, um called me and you and everyone we know.

spk_2:   29:09
Yeah,

spk_1:   29:10
and it also has What's his name?

spk_2:   29:12
John Hawkes. John

spk_1:   29:13
Hawkes Thank you so much that I want miss out on giving him a plug because he's awesome. He's a great actor, and Mariah Julie's like this poetic filmmaker, and there's only a couple filmmakers that I think have like absolutely in common with them. I don't know. Please share an aesthetic because they're obviously different. And I don't want to put myself like into their category like, I don't wantto be disrespectful by saying, like, I could be like this, Still make your book some of the things that she does and the way she tells stories are like the writing of it. Like, I really connect to that stuff. And look where my friends said, like, Oh, you're a little bit like Lena Dunham with this tiny furniture thing I don't know. Like, if you're gonna compare me to a female filmmaker, if you like the lady who made like first cow or

spk_2:   30:01
let Kelly right Kirby.

spk_1:   30:02
Yeah, and we're talking big budget I've written. Some were talking earlier about exaggerated nineties movies. I have a couple of decoration scripts like Kathryn Bigelow could do. You know what I mean? But I really love Miranda Julie, and I guess I'm kind of going off in another camp. This is a very candid episode, Dave. Okay, so what is that thing? And, uh and so those are the movies that like that I'm that I'm looking forward to. And then. Well, obviously the movie there. The movie that I'm the biggest movie I'm looking forward is Ghostbusters three, which comes out like in July. Sometime

spk_2:   30:37
closes, get postponed. Yeah,

spk_1:   30:40
yeah, exactly. Yeah, who knows? Dude, Who knows what's gonna happen like and that they're talking about a theaters can rebound from being closed, you know, for 3 to 6 months, Like they don't really know if that were made just for the market and just be who knows? But to be honest with you, like theaters, they're kind of like they're gonna fold like a video store model, you know, they're gone, and it's gonna be like, we'll be talking about it on the porch, drinking lemonade, And I'm saying and nobody will know what the hell we're talking about. That's the way it's going.

spk_2:   31:16
Yeah.

spk_1:   31:17
Stream, stream it or don't show is the way things were going. But that's all right. Everything changes over time. I mean, you know, I mean, we're podcasting. What was that? 10 years ago, wasn't it? You know what was right? Anyway, listen, if you like what you heard, please tune in. Next week, the big waters will be back. You know God forbid. Like a major. Something happens, but I'm pretty sure during quarantine, you could still podcast as long as they don't shut down the Internet. Yeah, which is which is, like, kind of like any my fear that they would take technology away because something serious is really happening, you know?

spk_2:   31:55
Right. Oh, God, Please, no. Wouldn't be great,

spk_1:   31:59
you know, because big watchers like a watch things

spk_0:   32:08
way.
