man. You know, if you're putting together a list of bromance movies, I see Wayne's world popping up on a bunch of list all across the Internet.

spk_0:   0:17
Correct? Open a coal box of wine. Opal something called on eyes because it's the binge watches and yeah, yeah, Oh,

spk_2:   0:52
I did. I'm not gonna choose that just because it's kind of obvious. And it goes without saying

spk_1:   0:56
no. Yeah, I mean, I guess everybody could have their own little bromance movies. The reason we're talking about romances because Mickey T always likes to eggplant us all day long. And it's suggestive of the fact that the three of us are in this romantic love triangle and that every adventure that we would have wood, you know, wheels have come off the car and just be a crazy train of romantic love and be one hell of a bromance if they actually put together a movie about the three of us binge watchers hitting the road on a road trip. You know, um, specifically, I think though I think of the if it came down to it in the third act, I think Nicky Tea and David would murder me or kick me to the side. So there, there there romance would have no no boundaries. They won't have to worry about the third wheel and Valentine's days around the water. That's that's something to think about. So you know, we'll take it in a different way. We were We were talking date night stuff. We were talking about putting together a couple shows about date nights. And then something happened. Just the man love came on really strong. So now it's just about romances,

spk_2:   2:07
huh? And love is in the air. You know, Valentine's weekend, all

spk_1:   2:12
yeah, fair moons, animals doing it. I heard there's so many hippos. Where was I read this article about hippos. Oh, well, Escobar hey. Brought hippos which are not natural to Colombia. And I guess there's so many hippos there fucking that Columbia now has a hippo crisis.

spk_2:   2:30
Yeah, I've actually had I have heard that before. Yeah, it's crazy.

spk_1:   2:35
Love's in the air like you said. Absolutely.

spk_2:   2:40
Oh, man. Huh? Yeah, I hear you.

spk_1:   2:44
My house. My wife has no idea I'm going to get her attention. You're right. There's There's no reason husband wife should hold hands or leaning on each other in bed. You're absolutely right. But watching whom were symptoms like every time homers in trouble with Marge, I'm in trouble in real life, Uh, never fails. Even tonight's episode he got in trouble for watching The Simpsons version of stranger things without her. Like he binge watch Season two. So there was some kind of overnight event that my wife took my son, too, for, like, the Boy Scouts or something. Like spend the night at the science museum or something. So I watched Bohemian Rhapsody, and, uh, I watched. Ah, a star is born for like the fifth time, Just like you fucking watch those movies without me. I'm like, you had plenty of time to watch those movies with me. In fact, I waited months. I literally waited like I put off watching them, you know? I mean, I could have just got into some coke and hookers on the Saturday night, but it said I just, you know, turn a couple movies on demand. That was good, as far as I know. Uh,

spk_2:   3:56
so, like my friend, a lady was out of the house are seeing her dad, so I watched Finally caught up with the Avengers Infinity War. Nice. All right, fine.

spk_1:   4:09
That's it. That's it. It's gonna say, You

spk_2:   4:13
know, I'm not, uh I'm kind of in and out of the emcee you anymore. So it's I had to watch it back. The only reason I watched it because I'm trying to catch up with all the Oscar movies. And yes, it was nomination for sisters. Uh,

spk_1:   4:27
but if I mean, it is not the funniest thing have to worry about it. So, you know, these guys might order an extra movie on demand or something, you know? I mean, how he ordered an extra rental, huh? It's like the house burning down here, taking out some loan with a loan shark to go gamble away all your money or the casino. You don't mean not really get into too much trouble, you know, like maybe watching reindeer games on the TV, you know? Ah. All right. Yeah, you're right. You don't have to compile a list. You can always you could. I was thinking about that. I was singing about what's a bromance movie. And there was a couple that popped in my head that I didn't think necessarily were specifically brought like Well, I love you. Man is definitely bromance, right?

spk_2:   5:11
Yes, I have a celebration of romance. Right.

spk_1:   5:14
But that's when they started it. Acknowledging it is like a sub genre and saying like, Oh, I mean, but before used to just be like these calm buddy movies, right? Used to be a buddy road trip movie of the buddy cop movie. But almost any movie with guys about guys hanging out could be called a bromance in theory, right? Right. Smokey it. Well, you're looking well. Why not? Because, I mean, what's his name? Made a bunch of comedies with Dom de Luise, Right, Right. Yeah. Um, what's his name? His name's eluded me. Help me. He was Reynolds. You have around. Sorry. Thanks. Thanks, man. Apples forgot Dalton from road house the other day. I would have been dead. Oh, man. That's why I'm saying, like, you gotta be careful on these binge watchers like you're not allowed to. You know, the certain articles that you have to evolve a pool you know about waiting Garth and Wayne's world. My fire's movies. Yeah, that's a pretty hard core mind. Something like best friends. But what comes between us, what comes between him.

spk_2:   6:21
Success,

spk_1:   6:22
I'll say, lady. But well,

spk_2:   6:26
maybe that's because, like, what's your name? Wasn't really in between the two of them, the success became yes, at least in that first movie.

spk_1:   6:34
Fair enough. I know the one that fits our relationship. Is Shaun of the dead?

spk_2:   6:38
Yeah, that's another one of those that, like, I It's so easy. But I didn't want to choose the obvious ones, although I think two minor still kind of obvious.

spk_1:   6:47
Oh, yeah? What do

spk_2:   6:48
you think? So? Well, I guess I'm going to go from three down. I chose three Number three. I think it's common, obvious choice, but I went with a super bad

spk_1:   7:00
Oh, yeah, yep, that's another. If there's a bromance meter, that one's pinging off into the red, which is probably the highest. If you want to say like yellow or green yellow, red animal, how those meters go. But yeah, it's definitely that's right up there.

spk_2:   7:16
Yeah, um, I don't want to say it's even though it took place. Like I don't know, uh, six are five or six years after I graduated High schools, the movie that closely resembled my best friend mine in my best friend's relationship earn, you know, best friend relationship in high school. So

spk_1:   7:36
you guys also share a porn password to a porn website?

spk_2:   7:40
Uh, no, because this was like before quarter passwords were poured. Websites were so permanent. Okay,

spk_1:   7:47
Better question. Did you recognize one of the web sites mentioned is a joke in this movie?

spk_2:   7:51
Yes, I did. Perfect

spk_1:   7:53
heads. Ah, I'm busting your balls a little bit.

spk_2:   8:00
Is, uh uh, uh. We exchanged VHS tapes back then.

spk_1:   8:05
There weren't magazine chul junior high magazines. They were still yes, folks ever simply magazines being passed around until recently. Like iPhone generation one. I think people still actually had hard media, you know, physical media.

spk_2:   8:21
Yeah. Hard media. Yeah,

spk_1:   8:22
that's right. Hard medium doesn't get any harder unless your company opens up and you call it harder media. Oh, like across the street. Like Empire Records fighting against Tower records. Right. Grew that how that worked? Okay,

spk_2:   8:38
remember, I haven't seen you forever.

spk_1:   8:40
We're bouncing around folks, and sorry. We we were told we were told we were told his binge watchers that we had to keep tight, but big watching is about a bunch of movies all at once. So if we meander and bring up all these other movies, I think it's fair game. Mmm.

spk_2:   8:54
Well, there is lungs of romance. Yeah, like some romance in there.

spk_1:   9:00
All right. What about Wedding Crashers?

spk_2:   9:04
Oh, that's the definite contender.

spk_1:   9:06
That's Ah, couple of guys that grew up together. One of them has, like a, I don't know, traumatic childhood situation, and the other one takes care of them, and then they have a company together, and then they get caught up in this one family, and they're gonna pretend to be real life brothers. Um, audiences almost kind of already on the map. Right. But this kind of introduced the world to, uh, Brad, What's his name? Right?

spk_2:   9:29
Um, rather than her. Oh, yeah, that was, uh, yeah, he had been on the rise for a while. I mean, he had always been a I think, the first thing I remember seeing Brother Cooper and was wet hot American summer, but he didn't really have much of a speaking part.

spk_1:   9:44
Oh, yeah, that might be true as well. Um, he's kind of the antagonist in this movie, though, because the wedding crashers air like two guys that run a business of like hooking up with weddings and pretending to be part of the wedding party until they actually fall in love with the group of sisters. But it's Vince want. And, uh, on Wilson is that when that came out, that was a big deal. That comedy, like everybody was talking about that movie

spk_2:   10:06
that was like, uh, that was, like, one of the first, if not the first comedy to hit over 200 million. Yeah, because I think before that, it was like something about Mary was the highest ranking comedy. And then this took it from it. And then years later, Bradley another Bradley Cooper movie. Uh uh uh hangovers with Be that what

spk_1:   10:26
I was gonna say? Like without wedding crashers, You probably don't get to something like the hangover, which is, like, again liking for Gimbels. Not getting hard yet, gentlemen, they're gonna get hard from the hangover because as far as romantic movies, that's another one. That's way up there. You know, a couple friends doing bad things in Vegas, and then their friend goes missing and they got a recount. The events of the night before the night that everybody wants to forget. But now it's contemporary. Classic?

spk_2:   10:55
Yeah. I mean, it's how just turned 10 this year. Uh, that's it.

spk_1:   10:59
Um, did you really say the director's name of Oh, stop fields Right

spk_2:   11:05
of the hangover? Yeah, Yeah, Tacos.

spk_1:   11:08
He I mean his whole thing. His whole career really is bromance movies, right? Considers, what's the other movie with Will Ferrell? Um, where the guy's wife cheat on Amy gets kicked out in the open A fraternity. Also old school, old school, Another bromance movie. Then even today, even due date with Zach Galifianakis and, uh, Robert Don't Yeah, hardcore bromance movie. Two guys together on an awkward road trip that they I forget exactly how Zach Galifianakis this character gets into his life.

spk_2:   11:40
I think it's pretty much training. I mean, if my memory serves, the movie's pretty much just trains planes about our planes, trains and automobiles. Except it's Robert Down Union, trying to get to his, uh, girlfriend was gonna have his first child.

spk_1:   11:54
Oh, it's an incident. They get kicked off a plane, right?

spk_2:   11:57
I think so.

spk_1:   11:57
Is on a plane. Yeah, he's going to like he's taking a trip, get either on a plane to get kicked off the plane. They rent the car and they're kind of caught up until his lives for a couple of days. And you're right. Like he's expecting his first child. And he has to get there before the His goal is to get there before you know his wife. Give

spk_2:   12:12
the dude a presidency, as in the title of the movie.

spk_1:   12:15
Oh, yeah, I guess I could have said Refer back to the title of the fucking movie. Everything that we've said, folks, these titles are mostly comedies where they all set. Well, they're all comedies. Don't mention anything that wasn't a comedy.

spk_2:   12:28
Uh, my number one will really my number one like, Well, we're not there yet because I haven't even done my number two.

spk_1:   12:35
You're not there yet. Dave's really tight. He's like, I got three. We gotta talk. I've thrown out to at least right. I've got to write.

spk_2:   12:42
Well, I mean, we've, like, throwing out a bunch of stuff. Could be pink pond off of things. Okay, well, my number two coincidently ties into your number three or whatever. Uh, I'm too swingers, which is kind of like it, which also has been formed.

spk_1:   12:56
I knew you were gonna bring that up. I trusted you to bring it up. It's It's definitely a bromance movie. It's a little more dramatic than the other ones. It's not just straight comedy.

spk_2:   13:05
Yeah, my, uh, my movies get a little word dramatic as they go on, like get a straight a comedy to Lake comedy drama to straight up drama. Oh,

spk_1:   13:13
man, yeah, I'm kind of sticking with comedy because the next and I would bring up would be stepbrothers All right, Bill and Ted's excellent adventure

spk_2:   13:22
those those air Another ones that, like I struggled with that, you know, like stepbrothers and son of the dead. I struggled with whether to put on her off, but, uh, I figured they might be once you choose.

spk_1:   13:34
Well, there's a whole bromance trilogy out of Edgar Wright's movies, right? Like there's some of the dead well, hot something, right,

spk_2:   13:47
hot buzz, and then world's End

spk_1:   13:49
worlds end, which is the weakest one. But if you want three movies, you're lonely. You're gonna hang out with those guys Nick Frost and Simon Pegg. You just get those three movies and you're ready

spk_2:   13:59
to go. Actually, if I may make a suggestion instead of world's end race? Yes. I was just gonna say what spaced instead? Yeah.

spk_1:   14:11
You want to go something with a little more classic, You could go all the way back to the Blues Brothers.

spk_2:   14:15
Uh, that definitely I didn't even bother touching that one because I figured you were gonna mention it.

spk_1:   14:20
And any chance I could get its music history? It's film history. It's comedian that the world will never forget. I hope not. Anyway, John Belushi? Uh, no. Who could be me? I could be him reincarnated for all you know, David.

spk_2:   14:38
Uh huh. Well, just dont get on the coke

spk_1:   14:40
allergies. Uh, well, no. He died before he started a family with his wife. Like here. I am trying to produce trying to pursue show business. But I do have kids. Maybe didn't write this down. Now I know one of those guys that claims to be celebrities like, you know how everybody goes to a psychic and claims to be like Cleopatra reborn like like in Cleopatra's. Could there possibly believe every other woman says that she used to be Cleopatra, right? I mean, like, No, no, no, you're not Cleopatra. You're one of Cleopatra's imposters reborn. You know, you think you know, there's all these people walking around you were. What's that?

spk_2:   15:20
I said, In reality, we're probably all just peasants come in, give you falling for Chinese, you shoeshine

spk_1:   15:31
again for sticking with classics Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

spk_2:   15:36
I'm guilty of not seeing that movie. I need to get on that one day.

spk_1:   15:40
Hurts me a little bit, Dave. You know, this is this is where our relationship gets tested. Way have differences?

spk_2:   15:47
Well, like, uh, Westerns Air. Like, not in my, uh

spk_1:   15:53
I'm the way I guess.

spk_2:   15:55
I mean, yeah, there are westerns I like, but it's just not my genre.

spk_1:   15:59
It gives us more of one of mine. I also think probably I listen, the more country music than you do it.

spk_2:   16:06
Was that

spk_1:   16:06
true? I said I probably wasn't more country music than you do too. Well,

spk_2:   16:10
uh, you definitely do, because I listen to them.

spk_1:   16:13
Maybe, except for see there when they need country song, right? You would see their song called Country Song, right? Huh? No,

spk_2:   16:23
I've I've heard of Seether. I haven't heard this song called.

spk_1:   16:25
He's just Yeah, folks tonight. He's just breaking my heart into pieces. I see how this is going. David, I'm gonna expect those roses from flowers dot com. All right, I'm gonna work it, man, if you're wondering,

spk_2:   16:42
uh uh, so I just go ahead and say, Well,

spk_1:   16:46
go ahead. Go ahead.

spk_2:   16:48
Uh, my number one can't get more depressing than this, but it's like the quintessential bromance movie, as far as I'm concerned. Um, Midnight Cowboy. Yeah. Joe Buck and Ratso Rizzo. I mean, uh, it's it's dramatic. I mean, someone, Shakespearean and how it ends,

spk_1:   17:05
John boy. And, um,

spk_2:   17:07
Dustin Hoffman doesn't happen. You, uh, like, you know, you got Joe Buck doesn't are not Dustin Hoffman, John boy. Trying to make it out in New York is a hustler toe like, asleep with a bunch of rich ladies. And

spk_1:   17:19
it's all of us that want to pull on his pecker. Great. Uh, no, he doesn't cash. He's gonna go to the pharmacy, buy hamburger. So that works, folks. That's the one of the gritty truth of living in Hollywood. You gotta pay your rent. Hey, you gotta pay your fucking rent. Actually, they're in New York there in New York, right? Yeah. Never mind rewind. You know what the gritty Truth of New York said He is. You've got to pay your rent. You gotta pay

spk_2:   17:48
your rent or you do like they didn't squat. They just have to find an old abandoned 1,000,000,000 building into squad.

spk_1:   17:55
They end up in, like, a portal theater or something. Right? And this guy is trying to hit on him in the bathroom, right? Yeah, that happens. Yeah. And then isn't it Doesn't guide leader proposition them and try to buy his friend or whatever. Try to get the cowboy. Well, you walk around midnight. Yeah, Yeah, I'm making. Gave question all these feelings that he's having now drag this conversation into,

spk_2:   18:20
but, uh but yeah, if you want to see, like, a great bromance are, you know, like, especially the ending? The ending might be one of the most depressing endings, but it showed the lengths that two friends go for each other. Felt sex. Well, I guess I could have said Brokeback Mountain, but I didn't go for that obvious, huh? It's

spk_1:   18:41
not a bromance. That's just a romance. Well, actually,

spk_2:   18:44
actually, you know Yeah, that's right. That's actually very true. Transcends

spk_1:   18:50
bad. Was I know that Be on the top of Nick's list if he was on the show today. Oh,

spk_2:   18:55
you know, it would be Number one would be taking cash.

spk_1:   18:58
Oh, take OK. She's a good choices. Well, that's a pretty good choice. I'm staying away from the Lord of the Rings talk because they don't want to talk about the Hobbit,

spk_0:   19:06
because

spk_1:   19:07
because they say they say, in theory, Lord of the Rings is a giant Dude,

spk_2:   19:13
it really is especially the very end when they're all jumping in bed with each other.

spk_1:   19:17
Yeah, it's pretty romantic A ll. So, uh, they're hiding the ring, you know, every looking for the damn room. Uh, point break with Johnny. Utah after Sugar, he falls in love with his mentor, Patrick Swayze. He teaches them how to dance dirty and also surf waves all in the same movie. Yeah, I just decided to throw under dancing in the way I explained point break. But fuck it.

spk_2:   19:45
I mean, you could say anybody cop from this 60. Excuse me? The eighties and nineties like lethal weapon or, uh, she. What's that? What's the other big lethal weapon? And what's the other

spk_1:   19:57
eight hours

spk_2:   19:58
48 hours. Q.

spk_1:   20:00
There's also shakedown, which has Sam Elliot. I was just talking about that the other night.

spk_2:   20:04
No, that's right.

spk_1:   20:05
And the working title for that was Blue Jean Cop Because he wears Get this. Dave, You ready for this? He wears blue

spk_2:   20:14
jeans. Harley Davidson tomorrow, man.

spk_1:   20:18
Yeah, I guess so.

spk_2:   20:20
Um, wait. Also Sam Baily. Oh, damn. Sam Elliott. Uh,

spk_1:   20:29
is it reminded in our hearts lately? Okay. Have you seen the big movie yet?

spk_2:   20:35
No. Uh, you just you just made me aware of it yesterday. Ended up watching Ah, Overlord today, which I caught a recommend.

spk_1:   20:45
Yeah, I'm gonna get into overlord. Haven't haven't chewed it up yet, but I It's on my radar or, you know, get around to it eventually. Are you saying it's good enough to move it up on my list?

spk_2:   20:57
Um, just I'd say Just think of it more. It's very much like a from dusk till dawn type movie. Like it's a john or mash up. Um, and they give you one more, and I got more war than I expected. Oh,

spk_1:   21:12
well, it's interesting. I want to see what it's like. Zombies in World War two. But It's a J. J. Abrams movie, right?

spk_2:   21:19
Yeah. Yeah. Very slick.

spk_1:   21:21
I'll be remiss if I didn't talk about the original bromance movie. Which is the odd couple.

spk_2:   21:26
Oh, yeah, for sure.

spk_1:   21:28
Uh, also another movie that I talked about a lot, but when I dragged you through the Western movie discussion that we had I don't know how long. I don't know how that episode is, but at least 10 between 10 and I don't know how many episodes it's like Season seven or in season eight. So this is probably a year ago we talked about city Slickers. You consider that a romance movie? I think.

spk_2:   21:53
Yeah. I mean, I never got all the way through, but, uh oh, I thought about putting this one on my list, but it's still worth a mention that in the watch um, Jake Gyllenhaal, my Compagnia Oh yeah, cop movie from a few years ago.

spk_1:   22:12
I'll just slap another three together that people can watch on a weekend and they'll feel great weekend at Bernie's. Twins and airheads watch all through those in the same day. Clear. Clear your Sunday or something you don't mean just like okay, the honey do list is out the window. You know,

spk_2:   22:31
they see my club, I guess, uh,

spk_1:   22:33
except for one of the guys are imaginary. So the romance between you and yourself,

spk_2:   22:39
right? That's why I'm a little, huh? Yeah, number. Of course.

spk_1:   22:46
So let's say everybody called you up the middle night. He's not feeling better, like, All right, we're gonna get some cold brews, you know? We're gonna tie it on for the night. What's the movie you grab? You got one choice. That's it. One choice.

spk_2:   23:01
Oh, man. Um, I'll say Yeah, I'll say super bad. Just because of my choices. That was the happiest one. Or the more Pierre comedy. Um oh, our Shaun of the dead. Maybe even though I didn't put it on the list

spk_1:   23:18
Oh, yeah, it's easy for me to grab One of the

spk_2:   23:23
especially good Shaun of the Dead is like moves that clip like it's only it's is barely over an hour and 1/2. And it just like there's not a wasted minute in that movie

spk_1:   23:34

spk_2:   24:42
Oh, man. How did you get your, uh, kids out to see that Lego movie today Are this weekend

spk_1:   24:47
way? Haven't simply to yet. Well, we'll get around to it. Um, do you know what I'm thinking about those that you brought up like robots in the end of the world destruction as the new Terminator, and I want on Schwarzenegger's character to be the human that they based the Terminator's on because we haven't ever met the human and found out why they decided to make all the Terminator's look like him.

spk_2:   25:08
Um, they kind of, uh actually, they didn't They didn't. And what I mean by that is is there isn't deleted scene in, um, number three that address that? Yeah.

spk_1:   25:21
What? The bonus scene? Tell you, teacher.

spk_2:   25:24
Well, it was actually pretty funny scene where they're previewing the t 800. You know, the arm sourcing of your model that was like the show's molded after this general who played by Arnold Schwarzenegger. But Thea, the voice on it, has a very wimpy sounding voice, and they're like, um, somebody in the group says, we gotta change the voice on that. And then, uh, Arnold Schwarzenegger speaks up in, uh oh. I could be screwed it all up, but, uh oh, I did screwed up. It was actually I take that back. He molded it after this general, but he had a very wimpy voice, and then they showed a guy with that looks nothing like Arnold Schwarzenegger, who's a programmer in that has his voice. And so the idea is that the program the voice of the teat 100 after this would be, uh, when you're looking, guys, voice nice. I'm screwing it all up. I'm like, explaining all this and not explaining it. Right. Go. Go. And you to find a deleted scene.
